Scheme for using deep learning for geographic association studies in genome-environment association studies.
New preprint led by PhD student Che-Wei Chang on using deep learning to predict the geographic origin of #barley genebank accessions and how it can be used in genome-environment association (GEA).
Take home: Prediction works well, but improvement of GEA is limited.

Wonder how fast and stable these changes in protein would be, if it would be as fast as reported in Brassicaceae

Thanks! Do you know if this is also true for the protein content? Since when did barley become animal fee rather than human food?

Based on the #BreedingValue project, we've added new trait data visualizations in the form of radar, bubble and heatmap charts for scale-type traits to highlight the differences or performance of individual germplasm.
