Problem Solving, and at such a young age!
@namosrl
NAMOSRL, or New Age Movements, Occultism, and Spiritualism Research Library is an Occult Archive at Valdosta State University in the Deep South. The Study Group is intended to be a place to share ideas and discover some of the gems in the collection.
Problem Solving, and at such a young age!
When you know it's going to be good just from the title. New addition to MS/150/1
I've just learned a London-based artist has recently passed. We have two prints by Dan Hillier, both amazing. The Green Man has three editions, we own the Gold edition in the MS/150/1 art collection
What this suggests is the problem with using AI tools to do something that requires human intelligence. A human would have caught that error. I human wouldn't have placed it on the list in the first place.
Mari Lwyd is such an important figure in Welsh folk customs (and beyond). Today's mail resulted in a Mari Lwyd Coloring Book and an issue of the Sketch Book (for MS/150/1), both from artist Kelda Sproston and issued by Skulls & Sheets.
This may be my favorite Mari - love the contrasting colors, the pose, the mystique
On the lookout for issues 1-3 if you can help
Prior to the emergence of the internet, newsletters and periodicals dominated the modern Pagan scene. Now, we continually see zines cropping up. Here's the latest acquisition. The Witch Collective is an "inclusive group of witches that working to create magick that lifts each other up." MS/150/1
My kitchen window has been taken over by several. I loves them!
Valdosta State University, Valdosta, Georgia. NAMOSRL is a Pagan Archive with lots of books (and many other things) across multiple occult disciplines
Cincinnati Journal of Ceremonial Magick issue 1
The Cincinnati Journal of Ceremonial Magick was a short lived periodical on Thelema (1976-1989; 7 issues). We've been missing the first issue and I finally found a copy. The third issue branched out to Wicca with articles by Selena Fox and Jim Alan and art by Dirk Dykstra also of Circle.
A forest spirit? Latest addition in MS/150/1 - no information at this moment but she is beautiful. Stands about 2 feet tall. What do you think she really is?
Can't wait to order this!
Just added it to my wish list!
Music was such an important part of the early Neopagan Movements. This booklet was not sold separately, but accompanied the cassette tape of the same name. Found in MS/150/1
You Should Do It!
Many people show the image of the Femme Occulte zine. But did you know each issue has a ritual package sold separately for each issue? NAMOSRL has a complete run of the zine and all the ritual packages minus the first three issue in MS/150/1 main collection
That makes perfect sense! Thanks for sharing that
I really like the how compact the triangles are and color variations in each issue. The Kaleidoscope effect adds another layer of complexity that causes the each occurrence to pop. There is a magic circle look to it and feel. Issue 5 <3 My comment, sadly is limited because of character limitations.
An amazing occult art zine from the UK. Published by indie publisher Wyldheart & Wright. Ready to be added to MS/150/1 - New Age Movements, Occultism, and Spiritualism's main collection with full indexing.
By far my favorite occult periodical. I love the supplemental ritual tools you can buy for each issue too.
The Aquarian Anti-Defamation League was a short-lived initiative (1973-1976?) by Isaac Bonewits. It bares the logo of the A.A.D.L. which was modeled after the Black Panthers logo and simple enough for transferring to a graffiti stencil.
