At a time when trans rights are under attack nationally, we need to be doing everything in our power to support and nurture trans kids. This decision is spineless and disgusting.
I am horrified to hear about NYU Langone's decision to stop providing gender affirming care to trans youth. Gender affirming care allows people to live freely as themselves and saves lives. By denying this care, NYU Langone will have blood on its hands.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Rev. Jesse Jackson this morning. His legacy of civil rights activism, interracial organizing, and leftist political work has long been a source of inspiration for me. We must all recommit in his absence to continue his struggle for a more just world for all.

I spent my Martin Luther King Day in the streets fighting against racism, fascism, and capitalism, first at a Preserving Democracy Vigil and then by returning to the @nynurses.bsky.social picket line.
Despite their seemingly superhuman life-saving abilities, nurses are people and, like all of us, deserve fair wages, safe working conditions, and access to health care themselves.

As a cancer survivor, my life was literally saved by nurses. From administering crucial medicine to monitoring my vital signs, nurses gave me with the care I needed to recover. I'm here to stand with the @nynurses.bsky.social strike because nurses have always been there for me.
What happened in Minneapolis today was state-sanctioned murder. May the memory of the life lost be a blessing, and may this horrible event reinforce our commitment to passing the NY for All Act to strengthen NY's sanctuary status and abolishing ICE from our communities for good.

Chuck Schumer needs to grow a spine, Cuomo shouldn't be allowed anywhere near our government again, and arresting Mahmoud Khalil for protesting is fascism.
@lydiagreenbk.bsky.social is a Democratic District Leader. She supports @shahanafrombk.bsky.social for City Council because as council member, Shahana wrote the #Intro210 Bill to protect NYCβs Right to Shelter!
