I’d tend to disagree. I think the cosmic ideas presented here, such as they are, are pretty feeble: mostly a stodgy rehash of 1970s ancient aliens tropes. I think Ridley is weirdly crap at pure sci-fi. Bladerunner works because it’s a brilliant noir and Alien is an incredible horror movie.
