Our new neighbour just did an earth-shattering fart as he was locking his front door and I’ve had to run into the bedroom so he can’t hear me laughing. Ahhh, condo living.

Saw so much of that. I love to drive but it’s less enjoyable with those types of driving behaviours and massive cars.
My husband chased after the SUV onto the street where he was hilariously parked at a red light next to a police car so they assisted. 😬
I find them ridiculous in built-up urban environments. We had an accident with one - the driver had a massive SUV, encroached into our lane coming out of a carpark, we honked and tried to pull over and get out of the way and he just rammed through! Then didn’t stop.
Could be. It might be improved technology too with cars having cameras and sensors?
Brisbane observations: most people reverse park now and why is half the population driving around in massive SUVs and trucks even in inner city suburbs?
Under the bin chicken flight path.
Flight delayed by 2 hours. First aircraft kaput and moderate turbulence forecast for the first half of a 7.5 hour flight 😬
Sitting beside a very pregnant woman at the nail salon and a technician asked her when her baby’s due. She said today and that she only had 40 minutes for her pedicure. LET’S GET THOSE PINKIES PAINTED!
Sorry to hear that. Your writing is beautiful - it’s impossible to imagine the pieces won’t be published somewhere.
Week has been so so. I’m just trying to breathe - literally. Asthma + bronchitis + building dust from the reno of the flat opposite ours going everywhere is a very bad combo.
Caught a car home and had no idea a Honda Shuttle could go so fast. The corners were exciting 😵💫
A hornbill just flew past!
Any better today?
Hate this 😞
My music streaming service randomly played Brother Louie by Modern Talking and the memories. I’m back at The Beat in Brisbane. I love how music can take you to a place and time.
Do you ever have days where there are roadblocks at every turn? Today is one of those days.
I’ve been pooped on by an invisible bird. Not even a rustle of leaves in the tree.
Had many what we call “panda tantrums” over aluminium foil in our household.
New fear unlocked: geckos that hide in the false ceiling of an elevator and fall to the floor of said elevator and panic scurry to get out of the elevator when the doors are still opening.
Thank you! Hope you can get some rest in before tonight too. Disco naps for everyone!
Mine came down with stomach flu. Telemedicine appointment at midnight, meds delivered at 3am. Suffice to say we will NOT be up til midnight unless I come down with the flu today 😬
Had to go to the GP because I’ve torn my trapezius muscle. He stuck a thermometer in my ear and I said oh but I’m not sick. He looked at the thermometer and said you most likely will be - good luck. 😱
Gird your loins.
The news from Bondi is horrific 💔
Jump screamed at lightning again.
Went out early to have a coffee and finish writing Christmas cards. I have been messaging with everyone in the world and not written a single card. 😬
My husband and I are making changes next year so we can spend more time with our families. It will mean we’ll be apart a little more sometimes but it’s very important to the both of us that we do this.
Cheering you on. Caring for an elderly parent isn’t easy. Wishing you a kind and joyful end of 2025, and a happy new year.
I loved this essay. Reading it in a cafe and wiping away tears. It touched a nerve. My husband and I are both only children with ageing parents on opposite sides of the world.

I remember heartbreak and being crazy busy. I’d gone back to uni after deferring and was doing 3 subjects and working full-time.
The Boomers are still very, very angry!
