4 frame comic. a street journalist is interviewing a tall light brown man with a pink scarf and a tshirt of the band Angine de Poitrine. off-frame, the journalist asks : sir! are you worried about homophobic parents who might want to trans their child rather than have an effeminate son? the man replies : wait wait wait wait wait. are you implying that some homophobes might not also be raging transphobes? Never heard of that. trans kids are currently being hunted down, outlawed, marginalized from social life, singled out in their own schools, and you're asking me about some hypothetical parent who might pressure a child into being trans so they might what? fit in better? transitioning as a child in- volves years of determination. every adult in their life is likely to cast doubt on who they are. if they are lucky and have supportive parents, their families are often ostracized by their community. the idea that someone sees the hardships a family with a trans child goes through and thinks "they must have forced it on them" makes me physically ill.

This was a beautiful Valentine's Day fic with lots of Ed & Stede hijinks, playfulness, seriousness, light angst, and a bit of smut. Plus word games (which I am terrible at) and doodles. And a lovely letter.

Do you have an opinion on the "non-binary" Canadian who took a hair salon to court over being asked to chose between male or female haircuts? the man replies : you bet! It's a complete non-story. they've had court precedent that protects gender identity since the nineties. The only reason we're talking about this is because the salon refuses to pay the symbolic $500cad ($360usd) fine. And now, we get another full news cycle demonizing trans people. It's impossible to turn on the radio without hearing some rando chiming in. The national broad- caster even published an interview with a jurist famous for his transphobia today, in which he goes on and on about how this could lead to a full-on social "crisis". The media'S insistence on portraying the most insignificant story about trans and non-binary folks as cause for indignation lays bare its role in exacerbating anti-trans sentiment by fanning the flames of hate for clout. stop using Trans lives as outrage factory fodder.

comic strip where we see a vox pop mic with a voice off asking an elderly woman with a walking stick : "maam! what do you think is the cause of the trans epidemic of violence we're witnessing?" she replies : "what I'm witnessing is an epidemic of violence against the trans community. for a decade now, there has been a conscious effort by the far-right to rush and pin unrelated acts of violence on trans people in order to demonize them and weaken trans rights. The fact is that 98% of mass shootings are carried out by cisgender men, despite being less than half of the population. you don't see me advocating to round up and institutionalize cis men. A third of mass shootings on the planet take place in the U.S. while Americans only make up 5% of the world's population. The U.S. has a gun violence problem, not a trans one.

She replies : considering that with each passing day, the public sees how much of the anti-trans movement was engineered by the wealthy to fuel culture war hate on the back of a vulnerable community, I'd say we owe massive apologies to trans people. just this week, we learned that a decade ago, epstein suggested using trans rights as a wedge issue, and that jk rowling's team was courting him. we also learned that what we were told about the closure of the tavi- stock clinic, the only youth clinic in the u.k. for gender-affirmative care, was nothing but lies. rowling's pal hilary cass forced the clinic to close after reports of 1000 complaints from families. we learned this week that it only received eight over 10 years, mostly about delays. in the meantime, the health dep't has been concealing trans children suicide numbers, which we now know rose dramatically following the closure. The terrible idea was always to scapegoat trans kids.
We owe it to these kids to keep fighting for truth to prevail.
