Statement on Today’s Temple Israel Attack We are heartbroken by today’s attack on the Temple Israel synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan, and grateful that the victims, though injured and traumatized, are now safe from further harm. Americans are all too familiar with this cycle of violence in daily life. Mass shootings targeting schools, grocery stores, movie theaters, and houses of worship have become shockingly routine. Today’s incident has an extra layer of tragedy with reports that the perpetrator may have had family members who were killed in recent strikes carried out by Israel against Lebanon. I just received this misleading mailer with my mail in ballots but I immediately ripped it and throw that mailer away. Screw those MAGA losers trying to target black folks like me.
