Five days ago, an ICE agent shoved a woman asking questions about the detention of her husband.
Today they attacked two journalists.
We cannot accept or normalize what has now become routine violence at 26 Federal Plaza. It has no place in our city.
Most of the power authoritarians have is freely given. We should not comply with them in advance.
Trump is far weaker than he looks. So is the GOP. We should draw them out, drain them at every opportunity, and fight for people’s wellbeing at every turn.
We have been sent here to fight for people.
Folks — this is not a normal government shutdown.
Let me explain the stakes and how we got here.

This is illegal, and yes this is the same guy who claimed he'd never heard of Project 2025. But there's a larger point to make here about public service. No one who wins elected office wins 100% of the vote. But everyone who holds public office represents 100% of their electorate.
We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.
Trump is now gloating about meeting with Russ Vought of "PROJECT 2025 Fame" to apparently determine which "Democrat Agencies" he wants to cut during a shutdown.
Remember when Trump denied knowing about the authoritarian playbook and many pundits and politicians gave him a pass?
Relatedly, someone really should fund a lawsuit by ppl who got home-invaded, assaulted, and kidnapped by ICE agents without a warrant.
Yes, SCOTUS will throw it out. Make them. Let Roberts and his fellow Republicans on the court tie themselves to this hideous and also hideously unpopular atrocity.
