Was talking with @throstlefantastic.bsky.social and @telthetrekkie.bsky.social about this being the reason Prodigy didn't get a third season - SFA was already in development and they didn't want to have two "kid"-based shows (even though both are far richer than that).

Oh yeah the first 5 episodes are a straight up mess. Doesn't really fully find its footing till 10 eps in.
