John Oliver (on right) gestures with his hands as he speaks. On left, a ProPublica headline from December 15, 2025 reads: “Trump Officials Celebrated With Cake After Slashing Aid. Then People Died of Cholera.” An article excerpt below says: "... turning rows red, yellow or green every few seconds, never asking a single question.”
1/ On yesterday’s @lastweektonight.com about USAID, John Oliver cited several of our investigations.
First up was our reporting about how DOGE operatives had arbitrarily cut aid programs, in some cases by literally clicking through a spreadsheet: propub.li/4cCsSKP

ICE is STILL in Minnesota and STILL terrorizing communities. Reporters that say otherwise are either uninformed (which....) or lazy (which... ) or just repeating regime lies (which... is also extremely bad).
People are still missing, people are and will be traumatized, businesses demolished...

I REALLY don’t give a flying fuck about white people’s opinion, so don’t bother giving it.
Go watch your “Driving Miss Daisy” or whatever and shut the fuck up talking to me.

I saw so many people claim to care so bad about Jasmine’s stance on Israel when Talarico said a similar stance and has donors that are very openly Pro-Israel.
My point in sharing this is people decided that it didn’t matter what Jasmine said or did… they didn’t want a Black woman to win.

NEW: When asked if top aide Corey Lewandowski has “a role in approving contracts,” DHS Secretary Kristi Noem replied, “No.”
But internal DHS records contradict her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

STOP. LISTEN. Seriously.
Maybe we’ve been going about this all wrong. Maybe this has to be dismantled from the bottom up. This rank corruption.
There needs to be a serious IMPEACH NOEM demand. These hearings have made any other choice complicity.

This is how full of shit they are:
There were white male Democratic candidates for TX Governor for them to vote for that aligns w/ their “logic,”
But somehow managed to muster up the courage to vote for a white Latina to go up against Abbott.
But a Black Woman for U.S. Senate is a bridge too far.

Texas Democratic Primary election results showing James Talarico defeating Jasmine Crockett
This is all I’m gonna say, then put it to rest:
Unlike other groups, Black folks don’t play that “withholding our votes” bullshit; we vote for the nominee in the general, period.
But when your white pacifist offers only bible verses as MAGA continues to attack & harm you…don’t look to us for shit.

Ask the rhetoric about listening to Black women is cute and performative. When it’s time to actually DO it, we get excuses and more of the same. 🙄

They are literally rounding up immigrants right now. The police state that makes this possible was built on abusing and incarcerating Black, Indigenous and Mexican people. All of us are on the list, all of us are in danger, just different places on the white supremacy hitlist

She got game update
As Flav’s manager and the person organizing She Got Game weekend, it’s been such a shockingly pleasant surprise to have such an outpouring of support. I received almost 5000 emails last week and my team and I are working through the requests. Please be patient.
The athletes seem extremely excited and very appreciative for the support. We are being mindful that this is a celebration FOR them and what they want. We have seen numerous posts saying what the public wants: athlete meet and greets, youth sports clinics, product giveaways. The excitement and input is appreciated, but that is not the “goal”. This weekend is about fun, celebration, and creating future good will and opportunities for these athletes.
Flav opened this weekend up to all women who earned medals at this years winter games + partners + USABS. It’s a significant number of guests. While we have not communicated with most brands yet, there are a lot who are not able to accommodate the request or cannot step up. It’s disappointing to see some of the posts giving credit to people and brands who are not involved.

Thankx to my WoManager and the incredible team of women pulling this event together

Michael B Jordan 'disgusted by racial slur at BAFTAS as parents left in tears'
Michael B Jordan was with Delroy Lindo on stage to present an award at the Baftas when John Davidson’s outburst shocked the audience.
So... does anyone care about this? That Michael B. Jordan's parents flew to London to see their son and they left the BAFTAs in tears? That he was repulsed?
Still don't think an apology was owed? Some of you people are wretched fools.

After considerable soul-searching, I feel compelled to withdraw from the BAFTA emerging talent judging panel. The organisation's handling of the unfortunate Tourette's N-Word incident last night at the awards was utterly unforgivable. I cannot and will not contribute my time energy and expertise to an organisation that has repeatedly failed to safeguard the dignity of its Black guests, members and the Black creative community. This is particularly unfortunate given that this year's cohort boasts some incredible Black talent, especially one of my favourite shows of 2025 "Just Act Normal". However, when an organisation like BAFTA, with its own long history of systemic racism, refuses to acknowledge the harm inflicted on both the Black and disabled communities and offer an appropriate apology, remaining involved would be tantamount to condoning its behaviour. I hope BAFTA leadership comprehend the damage they and the BBC have caused and take the necessary steps to ensure their production staff are inclusive enough to prevent such an issue in the future.
Yours sincerely, Jonte Richardson

So the men's hockey team partied with Kash Patel and made a bunch of misogynistic jokes about the women's hockey team and yukked it up with Trump and tbh this is why I have a hard time caring about the Olympics because I need to see who you voted for before I expend any energy rooting for you.

My ethnicity is Black. I capitalize the B because the culture created by my ancestors in the US is monumental in its own right and distinct from other members of a shared diaspora.
Hard pass on twisting those facts into ahistorical talking points indistinguishable from white ethnonationalism.

The most disturbing part is knowing ICE left a little girl alone and didn’t care.
Annabella was six years old when her dad was detained by ICE while he was picking up their food order. She stayed inside, waiting.
He never returned to her that day.

This is the language of a cheater who attends the same church his father is a deacon at. He wears Stacy Adams shoes. It’s a church where women aren’t allowed on the pulpit except for on Women’s Day. Trust meee.😹😹

All the people failing to understand that the tariff ruling is a win for corporations and that win just happened to give Trump a bad day are going to make me despair.
You don't need to cheer on the architects of another win for corporations just because Trump got mad about it for a couple hours.

I know this will probably have asshats in my mentions again, but periodic reminder that everything happening now has a precedent. And that precedent is closer than slavery, internment, boarding schools, Jim Crow...it is the very modern school to prison pipeline. It is the last 40 years of policy.
