I finished the bunbun!
First ride in all my new gear! Helmet and boots! And Arielle helped model my new saddle pad! Someday my horse will find me but until then, the lesson horses help me break in new stuff and teach me lots of good lessons!
Haven’t posted in a while. I’ve been pretty busy but here is an update on the jaguar! #jaguar #art #sculpture
The jaguar is September was a sculpted head with a pvc pipe armature that was bent to measurements the artist made for a sitting pose. A general outline made of cardboard was attached to the pvc with zip ties.
The jaguar currently as it sits on the floor in the artist’s studio. It has fully bulked out and sculpted with muscle detail and is ready for pattern making so the artist can sew the skin from felt which will be cut from a custom made pattern.
September vs. November. Lots of work has been done to get here!
A picture of the artist holding the felt “skin” on the rabbit sculpture’s head to test the fit. The skin is made up of white, cream, and blue wool felt pieces with a small piece of pink felt for the nose. There are 9 pieces sewn together so far for one side of the head. One of the pieces is a tear drop shape of light blue felt positioned by the corner of the rabbit’s eye.
I think I sorted out the color options I like.
A leaping rabbit sculpture is laying on top of two manilla folders covered in green painters tape pattern pieces that will fit the rabbit when cut from fabric and sewn together. The pieces just need to be cut out.
I dunno…this rabbit is everything. But I don’t know what color to make it.
Two small stockings made of felt that would fit a cat’s paws are hanging on the knobs of a curio cabinet. Inside the cabinet are animal figurines, mostly horses and donkeys. The cat sized stockings are from left to right, red with the name Arlo embroidered vertically in white thread and a holly sprig embroidered in green and red thread on the toe and green on the right with the name Ezra embroidered vertically in white thread with white embroideries of 3 stars on the toe. Both stockings have a band of white fluffy fabric at the top opening and a thin white ribbon to hang them with.
I made my cat children their own stockings because this is their first winter solstice and Christmas and they needed their own decorations for the winter holidays!
A leaping rabbit taxidermy form is laying on the artist’s table in the studio. Various art materials are spread around on the table. The rabbit is facing to the right and has grey paper clay added to the limbs, tail, and patching imperfections on the side and rump.
This literally just arrived in the mail today and I’ve already patched it up and sculpted over the feet and added a tail. I’m obsessed! If I had eyes ready to go I’d get the whole face done. This one is very likely going to be a speedrun as I don’t think I’ll be able to put it down for long.
Fish sculpture with blue painters tape and sharpie lines marking the pattern seams for cutting. The head of the fish has the tape removed and each piece from the head is flattened on a yellow manilla envelope.
Fish pattern in progress.
I would HAVE to have the Mari in my village!!! Excellent designs!
Christmas Crossing 🎄
The artist is pictured between two blank foam taxidermy deer mannikins. There is a buck next to the artist’s head with its head lifted up to point its nose straight out and the other one is in front of the artist and is a smaller fawn with its head upright. The walls behind them are bright yellow.
New guys arrived!
A series of eight tiny horse drawings in pencil on paper. The horses are depicted in different poses facing different directions. Some horses are walking, trotting, cantering, rearing, and standing. Each drawing would fit inside of an inch by inch square. They are drawn in two columns on the left side of the page with room for more tiny horses on the right side.
Tiny pony sketchbook page I started.

This time of year leading up to the winter holidays is not my favorite. The magic is not there anymore and hasn’t been for a long time. I don’t know how to bring it back. Do any of you have crafts, activities, decorations, foods, etc, that bring you comfort this time of year?
Me too! My favorite part is sewing it together though. My mom might help cut pieces out from the felt. Personally my least favorite is cutting them.
The jaguar sculpture sitting on the floor in the artist’s studio is now covered in a layer of light green painters tape. Boxes of art supplies and antlers are in the background and the walls of the studio are light blue and yellow.
We are green now. This is the first step in my pattern making process. Next I’ll draw the seam lines for each color of felt. Then I’ll cut the seam lines with an exacto and peel the pattern pieces off so they can be transferred to the felt.

The rabbit has a halo! This is all I know what to say about it!
linoleum block stamp of a woodcock mounted to a wooden round, with a print of the stamp in black ink next to it.
Same photo format as previous but the stamp is of an oak leaf and two acorns.
Same photo format as previous but the stamp is of a handful of fern leaves.
A few stamp designs ✨ What stamps should I make next?
I’m so proud of you friend! 😭🙌🏼💖
OKAY I ORDERED 3 different taxidermy forms! A rabbit and 2 deer!
The jaguar sculpture is sitting on the floor of the artist’s studio and is facing to the left. The jaguar is shown slightly from above and behind giving a look at the back and top of the jaguar. The tail of the jaguar has been roughed in with quilting batting and yarn covering the aluminum wire. The tail is poseable.
More time spent with the jaguar. I thought I was done with clay but no…once on the floor it was clear the neck needed more work. I also finalized the tail armature with quilting batting and tying with yarn. The tail can be posed due to the wire core but not too much or wire could break eventually.
OKAY I WILL! Now I need to figure out what ones I want lol that’s the hard part 😩
To buy taxidermy forms or not..
A pixel art rendition of a magnemite sleeping in a field of vines and flowers. It is rusted, basking in the sun, with a happy expression. Forget-me-nots are growing in the corner.

A digital drawing of some smaller frames as well as other items scattered and overlapping on a page. There is one frame with a teapot and a cup in it, one with a landscape, on with a long necked dog and one with a smiling flower. Surrounding the frames are flowers and a little cottage.
I love playing around with colours :')
