This is for *you*, DC. Check it out.
*highly* recommended. And surprisingly a thing in the DC area (pool work, not depth, of course).
This is where Iβm finding my fun/escape, this past year. Headed to Playa del Carmen later this month for some cenote #freediving.
I mean, I guess I understand why a 24 year old reporter might not clue in on this, but it's just another demonstration of just how brainless and lazy senior editors/publishers/etc are.
We have decades worth of press and polling and economic data over just how little of an impact the Federal gas tax has on things, and yet it's a reliable centerpiece in politics on a regular basis.
I suppose splitting the colony in two and outfitting both sides with canons would be in poor taste.
wealthy homeowners: "my home is an investment and the value of it should increase in perpetuity and that is my god-given right"
also wealthy homeowners: "the government acknowledging that my home value has increased is an unconstitutional attack on homeowners!"
That was lovely.
I experienced something similar the other day, in Safari. It autocompleted to a website that I am certain I have not visited in almost 20 years (and has not existed online in nearly as many years, I'm sure). Nuts.
Sure, but no one will air them.
Uh huh.
This really does feel like a speedrun of the early 00s, doesn't it?
Go on, put Ari Fleischer on TV to tell Americans that "they need to watch what they say, watch what they do."
Your Data Will Be Used Against You (and not just by ICE/CPB). All these technologies will make their way to ordinary law enforcement.
An R-12? Sorry, we don't serve that around here anymore.
Because it's small enough that they feel like they can beat it, and they reliably have others around them cheering them on.
Not that local emergency planning can't turn into a budget blackhole of terrible spending decisions, either. But if we're going to shovel wheelbarrows full of money at things, probably more effective to do it with emergency management than law enforcement.
Worth considering how your local gov't is handling this. We no longer have FEMA to back up local emergency management failures. And if money is the problem with local planning, I suggest looking at your law enforcement budget first.
The answer lies buried somewhere in the Baroque Cycle.
(There may never be a payout)
[slow clap]
Regular people looking away from this kind of government fuckery is a big part of what enabled [gestures at all of this]
Fingers crossed it's suddenly, in the middle of a press conference.
A lying liar who lies? She was part of the foundation built for this.
Timeless (and timely). My 9, 11, and 15 year olds all *deeply* enjoyed watching it with me recently. Works on so many levels.
It's pretty inspired!
$210m? (2/3 of the figure below) Seems a little low.
Well, I know where I *won't* have to campaign . . .
I am *quite* open to some more budget discipline in Arlington, and any fair version of that would extend to things I like (including this gymnastics program, which once served us wonderfully). But the way that Schwartz is going about this one? No.
Also, fire Mark Schwartz.
Psst. "Upzone the golf courses."
Do we have a breakdown anywhere of how many senior members of this Admin (which includes every GOP Senator and Congressman at this point) have kids in the military?
