one mention of a queer person existing in the new book and they're review-bombing it on goodreads? having queer topics in middle-grade books does not make them inappropriate for children π£π£
and you can't say you didn't know. if you're online in any way, then you know. if you still read her books (you can't separate the art from the artist when they're still alive and profiting from it), i automatically assume you're transphobic, homophobic or racist
it always baffles me when i see people online who have not moved on from harry potter/jkr despite her bigoted views all over the place, and they are still (re)reading her books in 2025
new petpeeve unlocked: when there's dual narration in an audiobook and the narrators do each of the characters' voices very differently (ex: mc 1 has a confident low voice but narrator for mc 2 does a high pitched voice that does not suit what i thought of her)
legendborn brainrot is real
"the deep" cover on kindle
highlight: "i know who i am now. all i knew before was who they were, who they wanted me to be," said Yetu. " and it was killing me. it did kill me. i wasn't Yetu. i was just a shell for their whims." annotation: the way this fits Bree from the legendborn cycle perfectly

mostly bitter at the industry for not promoting sapphic books more and bitter at the large group of readers who won't widden their scope and keep reading the same straight/white boring formula copy pasted
nothing personal but i do feel bitter when an author who used to write sapphic books only got their first nyt bestseller #1 with a straight book
