I just cannot take this dog seriously
@outdoorsyconnor
A fellow who lives in the countryside doing countryside things. Originally studied music, then did a compsci BSc + biomed MSc, then a history BA + a education BA! Reads a lot. Likes baking and cooking. Has chickens and ducks. All in all a bit odd tbh.
I just cannot take this dog seriously
I should add that this happened only because the module this belonged to was being done by a different uni who used a different reference style, and I used my standard LaTEX template when writing it and forgot to change the style it used. That was literally it. Not quite βacademic misconductβ.
Also why is that βacademic misconductβ, youβd think thatβd be reserved for, I dunno, cheating? Plagiarism? Having someone else do the work? Not formatting mistakes jeez. I lost marks once because Iβd accidental left the text in a link blue. I canβt take it seriously anymore, but hey itβs finished!
I had an academic misconduct complaint against me because Iβd used the wrong referencing style in an essay. And I only learnt it as I randomly checked my uni email and saw that the complaint had been dismissed. Cool, gimme a shout next time you want to talk formatting, we can share our fav fonts π€¦
Itβs when you have started to stack books in front of other books that the thought of βyeah it might be time for another bookcaseβ makes itβs appearance. Speaking of which I need more shelves.
Went on a three day kayaking/camping trip to Loch Lomond, made some duck and swan friends, got sunburnt hands, had a great time π
My first bird of the dayβ¦ swifts! Two of them! For the first time in, I think, 3-4 years they are back and nesting in an old woodshed in the garden. Thankfully itβs empty so I wonβt ever disturb them. Is there anything else I can do to make sure theyβre safe, fed, watered, etc.?
The album thatβs songβs from is actually so damned good. Love it, might have to listen to it again soon.
If I run into any difficulties I may call upon your help (so apologies in advance!).
β¦and thatβll be tonightβs viewing! Thanks again.
Oh, wow, okay dokie then! Thanks!! This looks to be fairly involved so Iβll read up on your links just now, setup what I can, and give it a go tomorrow evening π€
How do you do these? Iβd be curious to find out how my pronunciations and such line up. Hell, Iβd be curious to know what my accent sounds like in general: Iβve had all sorts of assumptions from βyou sound Englishβ to βare you from Edinburgh somewhere?β π€·
Oh cool, a new book π
Iβm pleased to say that my βIrish historyβ shelf is now, well, an entire shelf!
I leave the side door open for only a minute and the ducks decide to take the opportunity to invade π¦
Todays niche history book acquisition: A natural and cultural history of rain π§οΈ
Oh yes, absolutely! Added to my wishlist π
Pizza oven and a barbecue? Must almost be summer.
Iβve just finished this, a history of the redhead. And it wasβ¦ marvellous. I now wish I was a redhead!
Some more obscure and niche cultural and literary history books arrived today
Well, thank you again! Likewise a few of my super-specific-history reads of late: The Bedroom by Michelle Perrot, Heart by Sandee Jauhar, As Far as the Eye Can See - A History of Seeing, and Breasts - A Natural and Unnatural history. I have more on the way too.
Ooooh adding that to my wishlist! Thanks :)
Iβve recently developed a love for history books on really specific topics - this one was next up in my list!
Umbrella facts
β¦and it has one of my favourite quotes Iβve read of late.
Todayβs strange yet delightful book purchases! Just started the βBrolliologyβ one, so Iβll be dropping some random umbrella facts into any conversation for the next few days.
Oh now the top-middle one looks curious, as does the first one top-left. Excellent haul! π€
Iβd actually planned on recording all of my books at some point. No real reason other than I like being organised! It might also be handy to have a list of what I do have, so I donβt end up in a βdo I have this?β situation come any bookshop visits. Maybe one day.
Huh, nice! I think Iβm well overdue another visit to Lesleyβs, I need to find some good Gaelic stories to read to test what Iβve learnt so far. And yeah, make a website! That way youβll have your list accessible wherever you are. That was the idea with my new-book-suggestion website haha π
Did you find any excellent bargains during your Inverness adventure?
