I just cannot take this dog seriously

I should add that this happened only because the module this belonged to was being done by a different uni who used a different reference style, and I used my standard LaTEX template when writing it and forgot to change the style it used. That was literally it. Not quite β€œacademic misconduct”.

Also why is that β€œacademic misconduct”, you’d think that’d be reserved for, I dunno, cheating? Plagiarism? Having someone else do the work? Not formatting mistakes jeez. I lost marks once because I’d accidental left the text in a link blue. I can’t take it seriously anymore, but hey it’s finished!

I had an academic misconduct complaint against me because I’d used the wrong referencing style in an essay. And I only learnt it as I randomly checked my uni email and saw that the complaint had been dismissed. Cool, gimme a shout next time you want to talk formatting, we can share our fav fonts 🀦

It’s when you have started to stack books in front of other books that the thought of β€œyeah it might be time for another bookcase” makes it’s appearance. Speaking of which I need more shelves.

Went on a three day kayaking/camping trip to Loch Lomond, made some duck and swan friends, got sunburnt hands, had a great time πŸ˜„

My first bird of the day… swifts! Two of them! For the first time in, I think, 3-4 years they are back and nesting in an old woodshed in the garden. Thankfully it’s empty so I won’t ever disturb them. Is there anything else I can do to make sure they’re safe, fed, watered, etc.?

The album that’s song’s from is actually so damned good. Love it, might have to listen to it again soon.

If I run into any difficulties I may call upon your help (so apologies in advance!).

Oh, wow, okay dokie then! Thanks!! This looks to be fairly involved so I’ll read up on your links just now, setup what I can, and give it a go tomorrow evening πŸ€—

How do you do these? I’d be curious to find out how my pronunciations and such line up. Hell, I’d be curious to know what my accent sounds like in general: I’ve had all sorts of assumptions from β€œyou sound English” to β€œare you from Edinburgh somewhere?” 🀷

I’ve just finished this, a history of the redhead. And it was… marvellous. I now wish I was a redhead!

Some more obscure and niche cultural and literary history books arrived today

Well, thank you again! Likewise a few of my super-specific-history reads of late: The Bedroom by Michelle Perrot, Heart by Sandee Jauhar, As Far as the Eye Can See - A History of Seeing, and Breasts - A Natural and Unnatural history. I have more on the way too.

Ooooh adding that to my wishlist! Thanks :)

I’ve recently developed a love for history books on really specific topics - this one was next up in my list!

Today’s strange yet delightful book purchases! Just started the β€œBrolliology” one, so I’ll be dropping some random umbrella facts into any conversation for the next few days.

Oh now the top-middle one looks curious, as does the first one top-left. Excellent haul! πŸ€—

I’d actually planned on recording all of my books at some point. No real reason other than I like being organised! It might also be handy to have a list of what I do have, so I don’t end up in a β€œdo I have this?” situation come any bookshop visits. Maybe one day.

Huh, nice! I think I’m well overdue another visit to Lesley’s, I need to find some good Gaelic stories to read to test what I’ve learnt so far. And yeah, make a website! That way you’ll have your list accessible wherever you are. That was the idea with my new-book-suggestion website haha πŸ˜„
