Fascism.

"Fox'sBrian Kilmeade says people ICE deportd should not get due process befor put on a plane: "It's not practical to think we can do due process on 8 million people. If we're gonna give every one of these guys a day in a court and a lawyer, we can't do it. And they don't deserve it."

Handmaidens for autocracy.

Schumer will be remembered like Chamberlain.

@schumer.senate.gov
@kirstengillibrand.bsky.social

Two senators turning on their constituents, selling out to MAGA, and proving that the Democratic party stands for nothing.

I HAVE VOTED FOR BOTH OF YOU MULTIPLE TIMES...
I've donated money to both of your campaigns.

That's over.

They're going to do it anyway Chuck! How can you not see that?

I've never been more disappointed in you. You have been my senator for my entire adult life, I have voted for you every single time since 04.

I won't have the opportunity to vote for you again, you're now a handmaiden to a dictator.

Primary Schumer, AOC. You've got my vote!

Congresswoman, I really respect you and love how you're bringing the fight. Can you please convince your fellow congressman and senators to abandon Twitter and move here?

Just look at the replies to any of Bernie Sanders posts on X. It's a waste of his time and energy.

Keep up the good fight!

ABA
It has been three weeks since Inauguration Day.
Most Americans recognize that newly elected leaders bring change. That is expected. But most Americans also expect that changes will take place in accordance with the rule of law and in an orderly manner that respects the lives of affected individuals and the work they have been asked to perform.
Instead, we see wide-scale affronts to the rule of law itself, such as attacks on constitutionally protected birthright citizenship, the dismantling of USAID and the attempts to criminalize those who support lawful programs to eliminate bias and enhance diversity.
We have seen attempts at wholesale dismantling of departments and entities created by Congress without seeking the required congressional approval to change the law. There are efforts to dismiss employees with little regard for the law and protections they merit, and social media announcements that disparage and appear to be motivated by a desire to inflame without any stated factual basis. This is chaotic. It may appeal to a few.
But it is wrong. And most Americans recognize it is wrong.
It is also contrary to the rule of law.
The American Bar Association supports the rule of law. That means holding governments, including our own, accountable under law. We stand for a legal process that is orderly and fair.
We have consistently urged the administrations of both parties to adhere to the rule of law. We stand in that familiar place again today. And we do not stand alone. Our courts stand for the rule of law as well.

The new American dream is to move out of the United States to somewhere with healthcare and human rights.

Dems would get much more traction finding and promoting people saying what they know and experience.

What has more impact, This man speaking his mind or the Dems speaking β€œin unison β€œ ?

Never Forgive Them In the last year, I’ve spent about 200,000 words on a kind of personal journey where I’ve tried again and again to work out why everything digital feels so broken, and why it seems to keep getting wor...

It's a long read, but we are all victims of abuse by tech giants. Unpredictability, enshittification, and exploitation on every digital platform- on purpose, by design.

In Grim Twist, Some Root for Suspect in UnitedHealthcare CEO’s Killing (Gift Article) The authorities have pleaded for help in finding the person who killed Brian Thompson, the chief executive of UnitedHealthcare. But some seem more interested in rooting for the gunman.

They refined their messages in an echo chamber, got everyone on board and then started pressuring Republicans as a block. That brought their nonsense to the mainstream.

Seems like a good map to follow.

We need to do what the right wing did with media starting in the 90's: create an independent left wing media environment that really only talks to other progressives. Yes, it's a "bubble", but so was right wing radio in the beginning.

This has always been a democratic weakness. We never take credit for the good we do, and just assume people will know it.

Well, they don't. We should be loud, and repetitive, just to the point of annoyance about our victories.

If healthcare executives are going to be assassination targets it should be at least fair. Not every executive needs to die, maybe we can just settle for 1:1 parity. One exec for each paying customer who died after a denial. It can't be that many, right? πŸ‘
