A small brown ceramic sake cup with a tanuki face
The back of the same cup with a tail
I love this tanuki ochoko I found today. I didn't get the matching tokkuri, but I may if it's still there next time I go.

This live action has been so well done, I'm really looking forward to more.
This one has definitely stuck in my head. The idea of loss without knowing what you've lost hits hard. Memory is such a fragile thing.
I'm not a Takeru Satoh mega fan, it's a coincidence I binged a bunch of his shows this week, but I have to say, the last one I watched and just finished, First Love, was BY FAR the best of the three. I loved this show, it's dark, it's real, the actors are all phenomenal.

And it's weird, I can only find people comparing the two shows, but nobody comparing them both to the original webtoon. Does nobody realize the story was a webtoon first?
I should watch the Korean version next, I'm curious to see if they followed the story better than the Japanese version. I only watched this one because I wanted to see more Takeru Satoh.
I loved this revenge webtoon a lot, it's one of my favorite revenge stories after Monte Cristo. I enjoyed the show, but I was annoyed they removed or downplayed the revenge aspect so much and made other changes to the story. Adaptations can be so frustrating.

I turned on Glass Heart randomly to test out my new Bose earbuds to try the immersion mode, and then got hooked. I didn't know he was even in it until later. It had some predictable moments, but overall I liked it, mostly because of Satoh's character.

I'm giving myself a vacation this week and I just binged on Takeru Satoh without really intending to. I watched Glass Heart before seeing he was also in one of my favorite webtoons, Marry My Husband. I didn't like the changes to the story, but I liked the show anyway.
The same director as the Blue Period film, so maybe it'll actually be good!
So excited to finally get to see Narumi animated. And he's got the same voice actor as another favorite character, Itoshi Rin.
There's a cellar spider with eggs by my basement door, and last night there was a raccoon right outside my back door.
Oh this is exciting, they are my favorite minor characters in Golden Kamuy.
This isn't from LA, but it's nearly identical to the performance I saw!

Ahh I really want to get him! I've got two weeks, I can do it. ใใใฐใใพใ
"I believe there are people out there, like the ones I met through my world tour, who have been waiting for me for a long time. The thought of them makes my body feel lighter, and it makes me feel much more positive. That is how I want to continue."
"For example, in the album artwork, there are these stop signs, and they were just like the ones I had imagined when I created it. These things really led me to believe that it was written in the stars that my last show would be in L.A."
"I realized that it was not a mistake for me to be living in this place. I eventually came to understand that living a long life means there will always be losses and mistakes will happen. By gaining that perspective, I became lighter that's the emotional shift between STRAY SHEEP and LOST CORNER."
This is such a lovely look into Kenshi Yonezu's creative approach and philosophy.

The back of a back hoodie with an illustration of person on a motorcycle with yellow text over it that says lost corner over the top, the name of Yonezu Kenshi's latest album
Best hoodie ever! They were out of these at the Yonezu Kenshi concert and I despaired, but found them in his web shop! I'm so happy it's cool and rainy and I can wear it for now.
I love Happy Boss Day by SKY-HI, I don't know how many times I've watched this video.
I particularly like this verse:

ๆๅพใพใงๅผใๆฐใชใใ็กใ
ใใฃใจใคใใ่ชๅใ่ฆใใ
ใ ใฃใใๆไผใใไปๆฅใๅใฎ
It inspires me to live more dangerously, be more crazy with my creative projects and push the boundaries.

Best news I've seen all week!! I love Link Click so much and it's criminally overlooked.
Or pre-order from your local indie bookshop since B&N and Amazon are only having sales right now to screw over Independent Bookstore Day tomorrow.
A clip from this video, Stormy by Nissy x SKY-HI popped up on my spotify when I was listening to the song and I was intrigued so I watched the full video and I don't know why exactly, but I'm enamored.

On the other walks I've been listening to podcasts in Japanese to get more exposure to conversational Japanese, instead of just apps. My favorite is this one (of course).
I feel like it's all helping and I'm breaking through the wall and finally moving forward!

I felt like I was hitting a wall leaning Japanese, so I've started listening to podcasts on my 5 daily walks. On half the walks I listen to a Japanese language learning podcast, which has been VERY helpful explaining things I've already learned but didn't quite understand, and new things too.
New King Gun single is out

Wouldn't it be great if there were four of him?
It's a multiple exposure photo, which is a really cool effect!
This one looks like a multiple exposure too, but only one Yonezu.
