Today is the anniversary of the last day of Charles I’s trial in Westminster Hall. A couple of weeks ago I found myself waiting in the same space for an event in the Churchill Room. Less of a trial for me but I did appreciate why defendants in Feb 1649 complained of the cold and bad acoustics!

An elderly tuxedo cat looks nonplussed at a Christmas tree.
Tree finally up but doesn’t impress Hector.
Dreamt last night that I went on a snorkelling holiday with Mark Knopfler.

First half of Harewood/Jones Othello at Haymarket ruined by awful Muzak coming from somewhere. Turned out to be someone who had left their phone on. How can you not hear your own phone playing hold music for over an hour!!! And then come back rather than die of shame!
Excellent project which brings back fond memories of being Labour candidate in our school’s 1992 mock election (and being denounced as a dangerous socialist by our then MP Sir Kenneth Baker).

Have to agree with the Education White Paper that the REF has encouraged ‘perverse behaviours’. I am currently listening to Level 42’s eponymous debut album.
Feeling blessed by the e-learning adviser who is giving externals a walk through of their VLE and has given all the dummy student accounts the names of characters from Star Trek TNG.
