Yes! Digital art and, surprisingly, math have keep me creatively fulfilled. Ironically after sending that original bummer message I felt a wave of motivation for game dev and opened up an old personal project to see where I left it haha. So I guess I miss it more than I assumed

I suddenly stopped doing game dev about a year and a half ago after the third major burnout of my career. I miss it in the sense that I remember how much I used to love it, but that was a long time ago and itโ€™s mostly been overshadowed by how predominantly negative my time in the industry was.

Even when Iโ€™m doing incredibly rote stuff it will recommend complete nonsense. Like, things that wonโ€™t even compile. The visual studio one actively wasted my time, especially given how long it took me to figure out how to turn it off

So much personality in this behavior !! I find your procedural animations super inspiring. Itโ€™s really hard to communicate any personality other than "wacky wiggly" with procedural animation, but your stuff never feels limited in that way. It feels very natural and intentional. Amazing work!

I decided to give Godot another shot, and I've been really enjoying it. It's a shocking reminder of how buggy and frustrating even the simplest of features in Unity have become in the last few years. I think it may become my default lightweight engine moving forward
