I love Mother 3
Me and Faulkard wish for all of you Happy Holidays!
About The Little Alchemist's update, progress is being made, despite the hiccups! Read more about it here: faulko.itch.io/the-little-a...
MY COMPUTER IS BACK
My magnum opus
Tried to make music through
melody first and got beat up. Furnace Tracker physically came out of my computer screen and beat me up with a piano keyboard (it was made of pixels). How do they have such technology
Silk
It's funny it functioned as well as it did for the first version. If you saw behind the scenes, you'd be horrified.
It's been a while since I've said anything explicit about The Little Alchemist's update. I've been working on animating some cutscenes and we've decided to make changes to the battle system.
hi im the artist im not happy about it
Hey so I've made the executive decision that the water must be animated because it doesn't look good if it's still. Our artist isn't gonna be happy about it though...
this may or may not be an excuse for me to not animate moving ocean water
hey so there's a scene on the little alchemist that was supposed to have moving water but we ran out of budget so it's not gonna move anymore
It took me 2 hours to make a 4s sound effect yesterday. I am fighting for my life here
heartbreaking: you made a cool and important spritesheet too big and now need to omeganerf it so it fits in rooms properly
raise your hands if you've got one of these ๐ #relatable
Anyway, sorry for the sudden heart to heart. It's not something I do often, but this resonated with me so much that I kinda felt like sharing. I really enjoyed it.
I loved Ch 4. Loved the lore implications, scenes, music, everything. But despite all that, I can't help but feel Ch 3 ended up becoming my favorite so far.
Something about playing old pixel NES-like games with people that are dear to you... this chapter really resonated with me.
Then we got a knockoff Playstation 1, named "The Polystation", which was really just a NES in a Playstation shell. The three of us tried beating Bomberman on it for months. I still remember the first time we beat it. I didn't even know what the word "Congratulations" meant at the time!
"Paradise Paradise" encapsulates that nostalgia. Feels like a track I'd hear playing on a video w/ images from the 80s and 90s, about the simpler times. When I was a kid, we had a Master System my dad had bought years ago. Me, my dad and my brother would try to beat Alex Kidd all the time.
I used to be a creepypasta fiend when younger, and I'd even have a couple of sleepless nights over them! So the creepy versions of the minigames ended up being weirdly nostalgic to me. This brings me to what I feel I liked the most about the chapter: Tenna and the feeling of nostalgia.
Spoilers for Deltarune Ch 3, but wow
There's just so much I loved about this chapter. It developed and showed so much about Kris. Not only their character, but also their family and how they feel about others. I also loved the secret minigames because it reminded me so much of creepypastas!
It's so funny that everytime Silksong appears, it's in a random corner of a presentation and it lasts around 5 to 10 seconds
The Little Alchemist is walking
netcode is hard man.

Played the jam version of this when it first came out and it was super fun. Now it's expanded into a full game! Check it out!
