Being both black and queer, Billie Holiday and Stomach Book represent two equally important aspects of myself. No matter how different both sides are, they're equally important to who I am as a person. I am not one side first, I'm both at the same time all the time.

Billie Holiday and Stomach Book couldn’t be more different as people, yet both of their discographies have similar themes of pain as a consequence of love. It's why I decided to draw them singing the opposite lyrics to their songs Let You Down and All of Me.

As a tribute for #InternationalWomensDay , I wanted to draw an art piece commemorating two of my favorite female musicians: Billie Holiday and Stomach Book. The art piece was inspired by Bo Burnham’s song Left Brain, Right Brain.

The folks who complain about how slow Bluesky is really shows how Twitter’s algorithm constantly gives attention to posts that don’t deserve it. When folks try to bring their “hit tweets” to other platforms, they realize just how unfunny they are or how nothing burger their opinions are.

I saw a post that recommended the song Pretty Handsome Awkward by the band The Used. What caught my eye was the art for its album Lies for the Liars. The character on the album reminded me of Breadhead. So I decided to draw him as the album art.

They were mostly inspired by Master Chief and Isabelle fan art, and @/notsweetdandy's OCs (Kyuumori and Rocko). I loved the idea of having OCs from 2 different types of worlds be a couple.

Their relationship is forever long distance.

They were both immediately enamored by each other. They were so different from anyone they’ve ever met, and the first people who understand them. The “doomed” part of their relationship is due to their physiologies and contradictory lifestyles, they can never live together.

Silvia and Tiffany met when Tiffany heard rumors about her bakery and how it was the best across all the dimensions. Her curiosity piqued, as well as her love of good food, so she opened a portal and paid the bakery a visit.

Men also pursue her; mostly so they can produce strong kids. She’s also a lesbian, but they ignore that. So one of the ways Tiffany combats her boredom is by challenging any man that wants to marry her to a fight. If they win, then she’ll marry them. Spoilers: they never win.

Because Tiffany is super over powered and wins every fight with little effort, she's also perpetually bored. So she constantly throws herself into any battle. She’s even learned how to travel to different worlds just to fight other powerful monsters, dark lords, and gods.

Silvia craves excitement, but since she’s perfected every career path and skill, there's nothing that ever challenges her. The only reason she settled on baking because she loves sweets.

Silvia is wealthy due to having the most successful bakery in both her village and the world. Everyone wants to or is her friend, and she has an army of suitors from across far away lands eager to marry her. Since she's lesbian, she doesn't go outside much to avoid the men.

They're both Mary Sues, but in a way that represents someone 100%ing a game. They've maxed out all of their statuses, skills, reputations, etc., thus they have nothing left to accomplish.

The twist is Silvia is depressed and cynical from existential angst as a side effect of living an ideal life with no hardships. Tiffany on the other hand is super optimistic due to death and tragedies being so normalized, that she sees joy and beauty in the tiniest of things.

I finally found the energy and motivation to make two new OCs. Behold, my doomed yuri couple. Silvia and Tiffany. Silvia is from a cozy game like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley and Tiffany is from a dark fantasy action game like Dark Souls or Elden Ring.

I remember when folks first started talking about Kick. I was like "Huh? Kik hosts live streams now?" So I opened the app, and lo and behold, there were a bunch of middle aged conservatives and cam girls doing live streams. I was even more shocked when I learned Kick was a different platform 🤣
