I don't know if I can say this is my new favourite (if you asked me now I'd say yes) because recency bias can certainly be a factor, only time will tell where it falls in the rankings for me but I'm certain this will rank highly.
This game greatly expands the lore, greatly changes a lot of what you know about this world as well as bringing back some plot threads I feared had been dropped. With Leon's story, this also feels like a really nice satisfying trilogy with the remakes of RE2 and RE4.
So I finished Resident Evil Requiem last night
Capcom have spent years wanting RE to be both action and horror, I think they finally got the perfect balance with this. Grace's sections are intense and require planning, Leon's sections feel cathartic as you tear through the enemies that tormented you
