How over- and underrepresented are different causes of death in the media?
Another way to visualize this data is to measure how over- or underrepresented each cause is.
To do this, we calculate the ratio between a cause’s share of deaths and its share of news articles.

I think BlueSky will be significantly better for conferences than any other site. Organisers can create speaker starter packs to allow attendees to auto-follow all speakers. Also a custom feed of all folks skeeting abut a conf would be a big win.

Support for AfD Is Twice as Strong in the East German State of Saxony. A bar chart showing the AfD vote share in the 2024 EU election, broken down by age group. The far-right party scored 16% in Germany, but 31.8% in Saxony. For all age groups, AfD support in Saxony is roughly twice as strong.
AfD Is Winning Over Young Voters. A bar chart showing the increase in vote share for the AfD between the 2019 and 2024 EU elections, broken down by age group. AfD support among young voters in on the rise, with +11 percentage points in Germany, and +15.4 in Saxony among 16-25 year olds.
In eastern Germany, where the disruption that followed reunification more than 30 years ago is still evident, AfD support is much stronger.
And while AfD voters are mostly 45 to 60 years old, more and more young Germans are ready to back the extremist party ⤵️
