I have to figure out how to put poems in the center of the page without messing up formatting.

I was able to figure out a way to make lines similar lengths (I have a couple of poems where the lines are supposed to start and end at the same place, forming a box shape), though they aren’t perfect.

Yes, the world is sad. But this morning I look up, and just below the mass of dark clouds are pinks, purples, creamsicle orange, and palest gold. And in another sector of sky, a sickle-shaped moon before a panel of neon blue.

No admonition. But a reminder to myself that I’m lucky, after all. Still.

And I LOVE me some Newman’s Own products. I’ll try it though…

I see you as a great artist and tastemaker; however, I am skeptical on this one.

Ossoff: "The WH put out a video depicting this war as a video game. When service members are returning in flag-draped coffins, & even more have lost limbs or suffered brain injuries or are fighting for their lives, this WH treats war like a game. It's a disgrace. And it speaks to a moral rot."

This made me think of three other poems, an opera, and a cultural aesthetic.

This just reminded me of the cantata by Benjamin Britten.

I’m thinking about sending some poems out, which I haven’t thought of in years, so I’ll probably be having a mental breakdown soon.

For my mental health, I’m now choosing to believe all hot men are AI. Even the ones I see in real life.

Never heard of this one in my life, but found a version to add to workout playlist. 🀣

I was so ready to disavow the entire line of OWYN protein drinks, and the Hevy app.

However, the OWYN No Nut Butter Cup flavor and the fact that I chilled out enough to understand WHY Hevy was wanting me to delete sets has redeemed them.

32g of protein is good. So is no pen/notebook at the gym.

Things work so well here when sane people are running things that we forget success isn’t on autopilot. This is gonna suck. Let’s elect people who employ experts and listen to those experts. Or people with functioning brains. Or people with half a moral compass.

Mojtaba Khamenei is Irans new Supreme Leader. Not only did the US kill his father in the March 1st strikes, his wife and mother also died.

Just something to think about.

Managed to have a lazy day while also doing gym, laundry, picking up groceries, and meal prepping a slow cooker meal for the week (Slow Cooker Fig Jam & Goat Cheese Chicken, hopefully turns out okay).

I have to go for a walk soon, since I was lazy and haven’t moved much. And it is almost bedtime?

I’ve continued to go into work early most daysβ€”I have had some appointments that prevented me two or three times. And I’ve gone in for 5 hours or so the last two Saturdays. I’m ready for the Ides of April.

This time change. Ugh. Glad I took a nap. Much to do tomorrow. Food prep, gym, laundry…life.

One of my first three opera recordings was a recording of Tristan und Isolde. I’m going to see the new Met production at the movie theater. Someday I’ll go to NYC. I used to play the first few measures of the prelude on my keyboard (all the skill I could muster).

For What Binds Us There's a name for it on horses, when it comes back darker and raised: proud flesh, as all flesh, is proud of its wounds, wears them as honors given out…

If you like this one, you may also like β€œFor What Binds Us” by Jane Hirshfield.

I've been sharing this Adrienne Rich poem with a lot of folks as we move closer to the collapse of first amendment freedoms. Please read, understand, share. It is not an answer. It is, instead, the very question we must ask and keep asking.

This illustrates why we need more left candidates in all races. The most left candidate may not win (maybe they will), but they will push the other candidates to the left a bit more, or to hesitate to follow the script.

This whole week I’ve gone into work two hours early, and anticipate I’ll be doing so for the foreseeable future.

I’m thinking about going in at 4 a.m., but the guards might think I’m insane.

I love when I love a poem and read it over and over and then pick it up another time, often months or years later…and have a lightbulb moment.

I was at work for nearly 15 hours today. Tomorrow will be around 12 hours. I’m sleepy.
