It's on the short list with Detroit and Chicago!
Public transit and real seasons are two big ones for me!
So many people in my neighborhood already can't afford their utilities. Indy is gonna be a ghost city like St Louis if nothing gets better.
That sounds so much better.
It's just crazy. I don't know what they think people are gonna do.
I love Indianapolis, it's my home. But our (private, obv) electric company who have been fucking us without lube for years have decided to sell to Blackrock, and I am starting to seriously look at other cities in the Midwest for 2027.
The summer supply wishlist is here! Not only do these supplies help folks survive increasingly extreme weather, the free store is also a community event where neighbors meet each other and deepen existing networks. And you are part of all of that when you support it!

Literally at like 2017 in the book, Facebook is doing super illegal shit in China and everyone knows Trump used it to game the election, and this lady is like "perhaps Facebook isn't on an altruistic mission to save the world... much to ponder" lmao
I just finished Careless People (the Facebook book), and my biggest takeaway is that you could not waterboard it out of me if it took me until 2017 to figure out that Mark Zuckerberg is a weird little freak (derogatory), and I didn't work directly with him for years. Embarrassing, girl!
He came all the way from California to take me to a secret vintage pinball arcade and buy me my new favorite shirt π₯°
Idk that I'll ever look muscular, just because I have a curvy body that holds some squish in soft places (and I live on potatoes and cheese π€€), but being complimented on how strong I am gives me such a huge dopamine hit and you will probably never get me out of the gym now πͺ
They totally are!
donβt forget to destroy your clocks tonight, walk away from your mortgage, just start driving, youβre free
Yes please!
People who I genuinely vibe with finding me and becoming repeat clients is always the goal, and right now I definitely feel like I'm doing everything right. Every date lately has been wonderful, and I'm really enjoying adding new regulars to my favorite familiar faces π₯°
π₯°π₯°π₯°
Thank you! That means a lot to me π₯°

Def! I still read two of our local papers because the news they provide is unbiased and relevant. But being online, knowing what happens everywhere and what everyone thinks of it? I personally don't find it worth the psychic damage, ever. It doesn't make me more useful to my community at all.
Witnessing isn't national and global pressure. Witnessing is literally just sitting there ingesting information, accurate and not, and having feelings and telling yourself stories about what you see. It's not only useless, it's counterproductive. Pressure requores actual action in the real world.
if i ever catch you filming me with your meta glasses i will break them. go ahead call the cops lol iβd be proud to do the time for that crime
I don't ever look at the news and I'm probably more well informed about what's going on around me than most people who are extremely online or have the TV on 24/7, because I'm out talking to people and engaging with the world around me. Which is the place the news comes from.
That totally makes sense. I've glad you've found a way to get the info you need without dealing with too much nonsense!
That's fair. I do think it's possible to access news that's actually relevant to you and your people without resorting to social media or the 24 hour news cycle. There's literally no reason to take the psychic damage unless you absolutely have to (like being a hooker who has to post for work lol)
"We must all bear witness" To 24/7 horrors? Why? What does it do other than cause mass burnout and hopelessness? Someone around you needs something you can help provide- the well of need is literally bottomless- go find the place in your community where you can effect real change and get offline.
Just knowing bad things are happening doesn't help in any way. If it's something that you have some control over (local elections, people you actually know, etc.) you'll find out about it if you're active in your community, and if it's not, then seeing it and being unhappy does absolutely nothing.
I promise you that the cure to feeling totally insane every time you look at the news is to A) be active in your own community. Not just chilling with people, but being genuinely useful to those in need. And B) don't look at the news. This idea of "witnessing" as praxis is bullshit.
I donβt like quid pro quo energy around me. Those who do something because they want to are often rewarded. Those who do something because they think theyβll get something out of it are not! I would never gift someone something with an expectation. I gift someone because I want to.
Making jokes about homeless people panhandling with their cashapp name on a sign is not funny to me. Bitch theyβre keeping up with the times now send them $1 or get tf on.
