It’s such a phenomenally beautiful and fun game. I’m sad that there isn’t any more of it or anything quite like it.

Grabbed mine from Ancient Robot a couple of days ago. It’s so gorgeous! (Though I admit to flicking through to find @toadlett.bsky.social’s illustrations first). Now I’m going to read some of the words.
I think it’s absolutely the latter. The thought of inconveniencing someone by making a fuss over them sitting in my seat. *shudder*
This is so exciting! I’ve got TAGS on my calendar for October so I’ll look forward to it then!
MPs staff get exactly those two things.
It’s no-one’s first choice for anything. There’s nothing I’d want where Smiths would be the first port of call. They’re just a back up for everywhere else
I used to have fun asking everyone in a group to ask what sort of shop WH Smith’s was and pointing out that everyone has written something different.
Once asked a senior public affairs guy at the company had he couldn’t come up with an answer.
Christmas Day for Orthodox, and I think Coptic, communities is on the 7th. So we might just go multi-denominational for an extra 12 days
There are some things that you should keep to yourself. Happy new year!
I also think it’s much more emotional for Aragorn to show up with an army of Gondorians to break the siege. He leads Gondor to save the city. Much more return of the king-ey. Also gives him the clout to lead the men of the west. Without that he hasn’t shown any leadership skills particularly
The Dunedain scenes would have been good set up for Ellodin, Elohir and Halbarad showing up with the grey company, Faramir’s scenes would have better set up Prince Imrahil, taking on the defence of the city. It’s not just nine dudes and their mates, Éomer and Faramir taking on Sauron.
I think reading through your other views on extended scenes it’s one of the things that makes me sad about the films. I understand focusing on the fellowship for the film but so much of what I love is the OTHERS who are fighting.
I’m sad. I love Theodred. He stands on the frontline between the people of Rohan and the threat of Saruman, not because his father ordered him to but because it’s his duty and he dies waiting for reinforcements that his father won’t send.
‘Stand, Men of the West!’ also hits me like ‘ere the sun rises’.
I thought about it yesterday and teared up. Genuinely.
Did Théoden’s ‘arise’ speech make you too emotional and now you can’t post anymore?
Fantasy has rhyming names because of Tolkien. Tolkien has rhyming names because he had to name 13 dwarves and quickly lost energy. :-P
It was good. I smiled, I laughed, I gasped. It’s a cracking little bit of lotr I think.
Painting through my backlog of lotr minis at the moment and seeing war of the Rohirrim later. It’s a very Tolkien time of year.
Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries is perfect for the colder months. Cozy and fun.
That’s amazing! And also I really want to colour it in.
