I have a lot of Gorillaz thoughts that I'm writing about these days but one thing I'm noticing is that Damon and Jamie both seem really really happy and creatively excited this phase

I haven't received any help for this, yet, and groceries are running low.

Gorillaz, at their best, make albums that immerse you into a world, an environment that you can picture in your head, from the wastelands of Demon Days to the horrific majesty of Plastic Beach.

The Mountain is the first time I've felt that from a Gorillaz album in at least a decade.

Should clarify that it's more "theory culture" that I take issue with over theories themselves.

Theories can be fun but, when encouraged too much, they can often miss the point of media when it's not about the "deep lore" of things and more about simpler, more universal themes of a story.

Theories and "expectations" have had a nasty impact on culture.

They just set people up to get mad when the story the artist tells doesn't line up with whatever people imagined based off "patterns" that don't really mean anything.

Wait for the end, enjoy the ride, and let a story be what it is.

I understand the sentiment behind it but too many of y’all seemed way too eager to make clanker jokes in a way that seemed less about being anti AI and more about wanting to make jokes where the punchline is “this sounds like real slurs but about a fake thing” or “haha, it’s like old timey racism”
