Ossoff: "The WH put out a video depicting this war as a video game. When service members are returning in flag-draped coffins, & even more have lost limbs or suffered brain injuries or are fighting for their lives, this WH treats war like a game. It's a disgrace. And it speaks to a moral rot."

McGowan: You're saying 46 Americans died, so we should attack this country. Here at home, 68,000 Americans die a year because they don't have health insurance. So, if we're going to spend billions of dollars on something…

Pete Hegseth is openly calling on Trump-friendly oligarchs to take over the media while unshackling the military from the "rules of engagement" he hates so much. What he really wants is a world in which horrors like the school bombing don't ever fully come to light.

I have questions…

Why is the U.S. Treasury secretary doing media rounds about Trump’s war in the first place, then suddenly getting summoned into the Situation Room?

Clearly, Scott Bessent comes back looking shook.

If the war strategy is so solid, why yank him out of a live interview?

Those videos of the gents who slashed through the NEH, wielding only a vaporous understanding of a questionable Executive Order?

Thanks to @historians.org, @modernlanguage.bsky.social, and @acls1919.bsky.social for bringing the lawsuit that produced this material in discovery.

You may have seen that a major update in our lawsuit challenging the dismantling of the National Endowment for the Humanities went a bit viral this week.

Why? Because the outcome of this case affects a lot of peopleβ€”not just historians.

Here’s what’s going on. 🧡

Hegseth: "We will keep pushing, keep advancing. No quarter, no mercy for our enemies."

No quarter is the refusal to take prisoners and instead just execute everyone. It's been considered a war crime for over a century.

Search-and-rescue crews were β€œflying blind” trying to rescue survivors from deadly tornadoes that hit the Midwest last week.

Why? Because Kristi Noem hadn't approved FEMA’s $200,000 contract with a tornado-tracking tool.

But she had time to spend $220 million on anti-immigrant ads. Priorities.

Tulip Ceiling

I am chasing an idea because I am no longer chasing anger. I am no longer chasing a comfortable bed

from the feathered confines of a box. And the birds asleep inside the bedroom drawer, do they sleep on their sides

or their backs? Do they sleep in silence?
Where there was once a barrier, do they discern a ceiling

built of tulips? Form guarantees language doesn't exhaust itself, but is a dream more image

or more language? Once, I held you
as I would an eyelash, a line that arrived to me

in a dream. A private admission, like the muffled song of two birds caught inside the tiny night garden

of a drawer, neither sad nor beautiful. As now, in death, your teeth are still rotting. Am I successful in this moment

of clarity? With the birds, you'd claimed, were yellow? Unclutch your hands. Brother this time,

tell me, why?

I can't even find the words to express how repugnant and despicable this post is.

People who spew such Islamophobic bile don't belong in the United States Congress. The job of elected officials is to combat hate, not fan its flames. (1/2)

I Watched 6 Hours of DOGE Bro Testimony. Here's What They Had to Say For Themselves The hours of videos provide fascinating, or perhaps horrifying, insight into the thinking of someone inside DOGE.

I have watched 6 hours of a DOGE bro deposition. The whole thing, start to finish. It's a fascinating, and horrifying, look at the people who caused so much damage, didn't really achieve anything at all, while still being so sure they are right. Here's what they said: www.404media.co/i-watched-6-...
