Oil industry pushes Ottawa to use Alberta's methane math β and hide true emissions.
The oil & gas corporations are unrelenting. Now they want methane regs based on their own self-reporting. God help us. www.nationalobserver.com/2026/03/10/n...

Renault sees where the market is going. Stellantis, on the other hand, has decided that the internal combustion engine will be the hill that they will die on. And that IS where they will die. Commiting corporate suicide. #NewEnergyVehicles #EnergyTransition #CleanTech
Honestly, I am absolutely disgusted by academics suggesting that AI can do the reading and writing for you. At a certain point, what you're bragging about is fraud. And in a broader sense, what you're contributing to is the erosion of knowledge and the destruction of trust in academic publishing.
Thanks - nice to have a friendly raven.
Remember guys, you canβt afford a gas rig, or a coal mine, or a nuclear power station, but you can afford to put some cheap solar panels on your roof.
Thatβs why the fossil fuel industry has spent billions trying to kill renewable energy.
The dealer needs to keep you addicted.
Oh dear! Said no EV owner ever. #EnergyTransition

@alan678.bsky.social choice for his #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Corvidae - here is a young raven. πͺΆ
Pretty sure this is a larval Flying Spaghetti Monster.
U.S. Automakers Risk Being Reduced to Niche Producers of Gas Vehicles www.nytimes.com/2026/03/03/b...
Well Boohoo automakers. Youβve hitched your wagons to Ratpublican politicians and theyβre screwing you. As a company youβve screwed your employees, you drive cost down buy building unreliable cars.
Californiaβs solar and batteries can now produce almost twice the constant output, day and night, as its nuclear plant, at the same reliability as the nuclear plant
- but faster, cheaper, cleaner, and safer than the nuclear plant

Noticed an afternoon NHL game between the Kings and Blue Jackets on the schedule today. I wondered if it was a national holiday in the US so I searched it.
The answer was no.
But I did learn that it is National Meatball Day!
For all who celebrate.
Insane EV ranges, high battery performance at low temperatures, charging that's as quick as fueling up at a gas station. And cheap. Legacy car makers doubling down on gas powered vehicles are dead men walking. I'm looking at you Ford, GM, & Stellantis.π #ZEVs #EnergyTransition
Fossil gas use for electricity down 59.5% in 2026 versus 2023 in the world's 4th-largest economy.
16th-straight and 43rd of 66 days in 2026 with >100% WindWaterSolar on California's main grid
Fossil gas use continues to plummet as solar & batteries rise
At best a coin toss between Blueger and Raty and most would take the veteran. But you wouldn't send out your #1 or #2 centres, Petterson / Rossi who are both weak on faceoffs. Same reason the Jets sent out Lowry: to win the faceoff and then to get off the ice for their #1 centre, Scheiffele.
He's not their number 1 centre, just like Lowry is not the Jets number 1 centre. They sent out who they thought could win the faceoff: it was Lowry.
Most of the refined oil in the US is cheap Canadian heavy oil which their refineries are built to process. Their domestic oil production is mainly light shale oil that they export. So they donβt need more domestic light oil. Too expensive to convert refineries to process it.
As someone who studies animal behaviour professionally, I can endorse this piece as a pretty good popular account of current research on animal cognition. The distance between humans and our animal cousins is far less than we had previously imagined.

To everyone sweating gas prices, a reminder: we could have electrified the grid, gotten off fossil fuels, and replaced all vehicles with EVs for the same cost as the Iraq war.
When you see folks lying and spreading EV FUD, like replying to a thread about EVs not being vulnerable to fossil fuel at the pump volatility, with screeds about *BuT cOaL!!!*, just call them out. We don't need to do the fossil fuel industry's work here, intentionally or by being misinformed.
This is not goodπ
Arizona is building the first solar canal in the U.S. . Solar-covered canals will generate renewable energy and save water in this notoriously dry area: buff.ly/3wEcF5h
We have so many solutions to this crisis. Implement them. #ActOnClimate

It feels like we get new announcements like this -- more range, more speed, more features, and lower costs -- every few weeks from EV makers.
From conventional automakers? Crickets.

Itβs insane how the Chinese are lapping us at EV tech. To be fair, theyβre also lapping Europe.

Reducing our reliance on fossil fuels with crazy swings in prices and availability, subject to the whims of despots and fools, should be treated as a national security issue. In Australia. And in Canada too. π¨π¦ #EndFossilFuels
