Imagine there being a huge drop off in diversity of adult content on the internet. Artists, voice actors, animators, they can no longer host and create certain kinds of 18+ material online safely, so more and more of it disappears

this is already happening, yeah - Like Yeogui is redesigning her characters (twins no longer twins, making them older-looking, no more beast-girls etc.) and no more tears or pained faces. Because it's her actual job, not just a side-hustle, she can't afford risking getting shut down!

People will not realize the impact the SubStar bans and so on will have until it starts hitting their own personal tastes and interests, but increasingly what's happening is the narrowing of new pornographic content into a more vanilla direction. And then even that will narrow further.

You'll not see a lot of reporting from game press about adult content and the bans. For several reasons (read @acvalens.com for some), one among them that indie sites rely on the same payment processors that are demanding these content restrictions. To be blunt: Reporting is financially dangerous.
