This manβs name is Justin Fox. In this clip, he explains why a documentary about Jewish womenβs experiences in the Holocaust had funding cut for being βDEIβ.
I really need you to watch this one and sit with it for a minute. Please, just watch. He - unelected - got to make such impactful decisions.

I think my next patch might be the last. I will still fix bugs, but I bet someone will call my game a 'dead game'. The truth is that a thing that would take me 5 minutes normally, currently takes me hours because I absolutely hate it. The game is complete. And it's very full full of goodies.

It's *ridiculous* that we are losing sight of how many people have looked at or played a thing because we give ourselves over to capitalist number crunching. the capacity of your local small music venue is less than 300 people but when that fucker is packed it feels like the whole world is in there.

when people talk about player counts or readership or any other mass metric I need you to think of real places for me. When people say Marathon is a dead game because it started at 88k and it's "only" at 77k I need you to think of the capacity of the biggest stadium you can think of. how big is it

Congress Is Considering Abolishing Your Right to Be Anonymous Online
The bipartisan push to remove anonymity from the internet is ushering in an era of unprecedented mass surveillance and censorship.
"Stripping anonymity from the internet would constitute one of the most sweeping rollbacks of civil rights in recent history. It would allow for unprecedented levels of mass surveillance and censorship, endangering the most marginalized members of society."

I was trying to describe you to someone a few days ago. You donβt look like any girl Iβve ever seen before.
I couldnβt say βWell she looks just like Jane Fonda, except that sheβs got red hair, and her mouth is different and of course, sheβs not a movie starβ¦β
I couldnβt say that because you donβt look like Jane Fonda at all.
I finally ended up describing you as a movie I saw when I was a child in Tacoma Washington. I guess I saw it in 1941 or 42, somewhere in there. I think I was seven, or eight, or six.
It was a movie about rural electrification, a perfect 1930βs New Deal morality kind of movie to show kids. The movie was about farmers living in the country without electricity. They had to use lanterns to see by at night, for sewing and reading, and they didnβt have any appliances like toasters or washing machines, and they couldnβt listen to the radio. They built a dam with big electric generators and they put poles across the countryside and strung wire over fields and pastures.
There was an incredible heroic dimension that came from the simple putting up of poles for the wires to travel along. They looked ancient and modern at the same time.
Then the movie showed electricity like a young Greek god, coming to the farmer to take away forever the dark ways of his life. Suddenly, religiously, with the throwing of a switch, the farmer had electric lights to see by when he milked his cows in the early black winter mornings. The farmerβs family got to listen to the radio and have a toaster and lots of bright lights to sew dresses and read the newspaper by.
It was really a fantastic movie and excited me like listening to the Star Spangled Banner, or seeing photographs of President Roosevelt, or hearing him on the radio ββ¦the President of the United Statesβ¦"
I wanted electricity to go everywhere in the world. I wanted all the farmers in the world to be able to listen to President Roosevelt on the radioβ¦
And thatβs how you look to me.
thinking about this Brautigan short again

Nobody hates living veterans more than Republicans. Dead veterans they can exploit in videos. But living veterans with opinions and medical needs are literally offensive to conservatives.

Scene art featuring a blonde humanoid with pointed ears and upward tusks posed in a battle stance with dual purple lightsabers. A blurry rocky cliff and crescent moon is visible behind him. He grins towards an off-screen opponent. His hair is long and flowing behind him in the wind.
The character belongs to user zraashaq-grokral and is described as a mix of khajiit, orc, and elf. Though not a Star Wars alien race, he has crossed over into the universe of Star Wars the Old Republic.
For zraashaq-grokral! Thank you so much for commissioning me!! π
