Obviously I'm against threats to anybody, but this is also fascistic in its own way - leaders of a regime living in military compounds. (The regime, btw, that has unleashed political violence in this country.)

Here's this from yesterday if anyone cares, I know this really isn't the platform for this sort of thing, but I'm currently off almost all other platforms and trying to figure out a new social media plan. Putting on second pot of coffee now.
Remember, the Obama Foundation refused for years to sign a Community Benefits Agreement.
Ever see that Lee Atwater documentary? My god.
Everything in America is for sale - for hypersale - and that's the root of all of our problems and I blame Ronald Reagan and the people around him for laying the groundwork, though we weren't all that before him either. (Also, bigotry, which he and his cohort also deserves blame for)....
... next. But are those reasons to not vote for her (if I was in her district?) No, I have other reasons I wouldn't, but I can't say who I would support either. Biss and Fine each have Pro/Cons that just make me tired.
The thing about people who go through political conversions is that A) they absolutely can be genuine, and B) she was a teenager or whatever, but still, not much of an excuse to me and C) I find these folks often lack a certain foundational base for their beliefs. Like, who knows where she goes...
Again, I wish this came out sooner and I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more media pick-up - actually better ad material than her being a teenage conservative who loved Marco Rubio, no?
I found this to be quite an interesting episode, featuring the interview with former Israeli PM Ehud Olmert, who often has interesting things to say. Someone more in touch with that era of Israeli politics can tell me if he really was doing sleazy financial deals while in office.
Where's Big Balls when we need him
I guess the donuts weren't in the skeet but the article. I wonder where they ordered their donuts from, because I'll be back in D.C. for a couple days in May. But yes, an absolute outrage.

... I know I've written about it before. The Democrats have utterly failed to meet the moment and this campaign has only brought me more despair, not less.
... not as it mostly is), and I'm really disappointed. Until he went soft at the end, Dick Durbin was mostly a good U.S. senator, though I did once watch him bamboozle a classroom of kids on gay marriage/gay rights I can't quite remember the specifics ...
... I haven't spent much time on the others running in the race and I'm certainly not as tied in to local politics as I once was. What I can say is that this race has done nothing to inspire me or give me hope in the fight against fascism, or even in basic U.S. senatorial quality (as it should be)..
... what it is. I don't vote in primaries, as many of you know, because I don't believe journalists should involve themselves in party activities, such as helping them choose a candidate. I vote sparingly in general elections for a variety of reasons, though I always vote for president. Anyway ...
... book doesn't mean showboating or making grand statements (especially about being a fighter), you have to say what you are fighting for and prove it, but you also have to adept at legislating and, you know, the issues.
At this moment, there is really only one issue, though, and we all know ...
... been cynical, and you could say who isn't in politics, but missed the moment early on and only started into her bit of anti-Trump stuff when her campaign began. She's may be a workhorse and not a showhorse, but she sure seems lackluster and certainly not a "fighter," though "fighter" in my ...
... Kelly hasn't been the clown that Stratton has been and I think Raja's campaign has been cynical and dumbed-down, and while I knew he was a fundraising machine, I thought he was smarter than he's shown as well. Kelly and Raja both seemed to get good marks at their jobs. Kelly, too, has ...
... between Raja and Stratton, maybe the tortoise in the race, Robin Kelly, could actually slip through and win. I will say this: While not thinking highly of almost any pol (not out of cynicism but experience as a journo) I thought more highly of Raja and Kelly before this campaign began ...
Frankly I wish I (and the public) had learned this earlier about Raja. (Also one reason why I'm not fond of early voting nor the way news orgs have not adjusted coverage to account for early voting.)
Rich Miller of @capitolfax.bsky.social raised the possibility yesterday that with the fighting ...

I'm old enough to remember when he said he'd sell that restaurant if he was elected alderman because it would be a conflict of interest to own a business in his ward.
That's on Mars America, not Earth America.
Also, why let him respond to written questions? Either he sits for an interview or he refuses to answer questions from reporters while he's running for the U.S. Senate.
Anyway re: fundraising: Gross. #Illinois #Journalism
OK, my posts and quote posts and reply to this got all messed up. Let's just say this: Raja can't remember being pulled over by a state trooper after telling his driver to speed to their next fundraiser, and then pulled the "don't you know who I am" schtick? Needs a better headline, though.
Also, why let him respond to written questions instead of sitting for an interview? Either be interviewed or we say you refused to answer questions. #Journalism

That's $512 per donut order.
