Nationally, there were 36.8 million adults under the age of 65 with some college but no credential. Adults with some college make up about 28 percent of the American population.
New study on AI & investing: When GPT-4o summarizes earnings calls to match investor expertise level (simpler for novices, technical for experts):
Sophisticated investors get +9.6% improvements in 1-year returns, novices get +1.7%
AI helps everyone, but expertise amplifies its benefits considerably!
No mention of the real tech driver for “Gen Beta:” biotechnology. If we are agog over generative AI, Gen Beta will decide on what genetic traits will be allowed to carry forward and which ones will be extinguished/promoted. Is our education system preparing leaders (Gen Z) for this future?

When I was in high school, my counselor said you are not college material, so I started a couple of businesses & played in bands, had a kid, before finding a path in HE as an adult learner. Passionate about using tech to humanely extend institutions for people like me and, especially, not like me.
Edu particulars: Ph.D. in Instructional Systems Technology w/minor in Human Computer Interaction from Indiana University Bloomington. 2X UNC-Charlotte Grad: M.Ed. Instructional Systems Tech, BA Psych & Philosophy. 14 years teaching online for IU IST (master's level students).
Been in the PNW for 11 years. Previously at another UW (Wisconsin) as Associate Dean and CTO for Extension, + Exec. Dir.
