One of our first signs of Spring is the daffodils arriving in the flower section of our supermarkets! They are such happy looking flowers and there are places here where you can see them blooming. Not THIS place...this place is in Scotland where I'm sure I left part of my heart. Happy Flower Friday!
Did you know that you can stand under an arch at #Arches National Park and you don't have to hike? Sand Dune Arch! While not fully accessible, deep sand, some incline will make it harder for those with mobility issues, for most it will be an easy walk with a big payoff!

Travel Tuesday! #California has a lot of great small towns filled with character. Some real and preserved, some manufactured (looking at you Solvang) but all are charming. Grass Valley is one of those small towns to explore! Be Transformed!
Right now California is in it's Emerald Phase. The rolling hills are super green and the wildflowers like wild yellow mustard, golden poppy and lupine are starting to spread out and enjoying the sun. This is the view right near Pinnacles National Park.
Yup..at first we got them mixed up the the Lyon Steps but decided to keep looking and are SOOOO glad we did! They are magnificent!

Spring is poppin' on the West Coast! Time to hit up one of our many incredible Botanical #Gardens like Descanso in LA, Filoli in Woodside, Berkeley Gardens in, well, Berkeley! There are SO many dotted all over California that there is bound to be one near you so you can indulge in Spring soon!

Great architecture is Great Art. I was born in LA and I still do love a Big City for it's architecture. We lost Architect Frank Gehry recently but you can still enjoy the Disney Concert Hall in Downtown LA. If you are in the area, get out, walk around this incredible building for all the angles.
"Traveling" today to Hawaii. I've always wanted to see Kilauea erupt in Volcanos National Park and manage to miss it each time by only a few days. But the walks through the lava fields and drives through the rain forests make up for it...mostly.
Honoring Harrison Ford's Lifetime Achievement Award we give you The Bradbury Building from "Blade Runner". This gorgeous interior is located in downtown Los Angeles and is a working office complex. Boring from the outside, it's stunning to see inside. Just another cool thing to see in LA!
Where are our #Architecture Fans at?! The staircase in Melk Abby, #Austria, is the most stunning spiral staircase we've ever seen! Melk Abby is located on the banks of the Danube and is an architectural treasure!

Throwback Thursday takes us to #Sicily where we spent 2 lovely weeks in 2013. I was totally unsure about going, not on my list and all that, but this trip was SO lovely. From Palermo to the ruins in Agrigento to the gorgeous views from Taormina and Mt Etna. Definitely recommend!
We don't often recommend an expensive travel stop but we always have to recommend the splurge for the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Still the most incredible aquarium we have ever seen with just jaw dropping views like the Open Sea room. Expensive...yes...worth it...at least once in your life, yes.
Spires, pinnacles, hoodoos, natural bridges, and arches, as well as buttes, canyons, and moenkopi, pictured, are just some of the incredible rock formations you will see when you visit the Utah Mighty 5...five incredible National Parks! And, yes, we have films about them here: bit.ly/3OZuXGB
People discount Los Angeles but there are just hundreds of amazing gems in that city to explore. The Getty is one of those gems. Whether it's the bigger museum or the smaller Villa, the buildings themselves are works of Art!
Watching the #Milan Olympics has been a joy. So many wonderful memories of our short time spent in that incredible city came flooding back. I didn't think I'd like it...just a "stop over" but Milan took my heart and I fell in love instead. The Duomo is one of the reasons. Spectacular!

This Wednesday we are recommending the Mesquite Dunes of Death Valley National Park. Go in the morning or early evening to get these dramatic shadows on the dunes...and find them a bit cooler too! The Winter is the BEST time to go!

Did you know that Yosemite was the inspiration for the National Parks Service? Yosemite became a National Park in 1890, but when Roosevelt visited John Muir in Yosemite in 1903 he realized that these magical places needed an Official Service to protect and manage our National Parks forever.
Every year there is a very special event that only happens the last half of February, only on a clear day, when we've had a bit of rain and you are standing at the right angle. This is Firefall, an optical illusion caused by the setting sun through Horsetail Falls in #Yosemite National Park.
We've always been told we are an odd couple...people who can spend every day together and not fight all the time. We don't really celebrate Valentine's Day because we make an effort to do romantic stuff all year round. So here's to the Love of My Life. Can't wait for the next Adventure!
