An entire industry about obsessively detailed knowledge of aircraft and strong adherence to procedures and checklists, and they still aren't recruiting autistic pilots smh.

Screenshot of blog post titled 'A Message to Our Community: Library Privacy, Procedures, and Law Enforcement' dated January 29, 2026. The post outlines YDL's commitment to welcoming all community members, explains that the library does not ask for immigration status when registering for library cards, states that library records are confidential under Michigan law and cannot be shared with law enforcement without a court order, and clarifies that YDL does not collaborate with ICE agents unless legally obligated. The post includes links to review YDL policies and mission statement, and references the library board's support of Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners Resolution 26-015 opposing county cooperation with immigration enforcement.

We welcome everyone at the library, and we aim to provide spaces where everyone feels safe, respected, and supported. Following recent immigration enforcement activity in Ypsilanti, we want to make sure our community understands our library policies:

For everyone that heard me talk about data security today, remember that biometrics do not require a warrant. Make those layers of friction to delay accessing of your data.

VA chaplains in Mass. told no public prayers mentioning nurses, Alex Pretti The Washington Post has reported that VA officials in Washington also initially blocked Minneapolis hospital employees from holding a memorial for Pretti, though that decision was later reversed.

Not only were they not allowed to mention Alex,β€œClergy also were told not to offer counseling or support to Veterans Affairs nurses”

Doug Collins and every part of this regime is pure evil.

Not only that but our unions specifically prepared measures to keep the protest safe by not passing in front of the actual building. I was toward the front and ICE wasn’t outside. Which means they purposely came outside just to gas peaceful protesters.

2 blocks away, got a face full within minutes. Burned our eyes, noses, throats, skin. Many were retching, kids, elders could not breathe. All remained calm and moved quickly, no panic, to get to fresh air blocks away. Helpers washed our eyes. I’ll be 65 in Feb. Never b4 attacked by my own countrymen

We are burying our neighbors. Keith Porter Jr. Renee Good. Alex Pretti. Thirty-two more in custody last year alone.

Six killed so far this year. They were not statistics. They were us. They were America. The killing MUST stop.

Stop funding the killers. #ICEoffOurStreets

Ah, white supremacists beating news reporters for simply recording what they’re doing out in public.
History often rhymes…
Especially the history MAGA wants to erase.
This whole 🧡 is an essential history lesson.

Trump's regime murdered Alex Jeffrey Pretti, an ICU nurse who came to the aid of woman that ICE agents were assaulting. Trump and his regime are now smearing Pretti as a terrorist. Yet they have zero evidence to back that up. This is what we are dealing with. They will kill you and then smear you.

Alex Pretti from his early days working at the VA

Alex from our time working together, while he was in nursing school. Later, he moved to ICU, working as a nurse to support critically ill Veterans. He had such a great attitude. We’d chat between patients about trying to get in a mountain bike ride together. Will never happen now

We are not the first people, or the first country, to suffer under a tyrannical government that does not respect our lives, or our rights.

There is a method for how to effectively resist, and eventually topple, such a regime. We can learn from others who came before us.

This is my favorite guide.

ICE is a paramilitary enforcement & retaliation squad for Trump! This is NOT immigration policy! It’s retribution against β€œblue states” that did NOT & will NOT ever support this EVIL! Arresting babies, executing folks in broad daylight, beating & brutalizing unarmed folks, busting into homes & cars!

"Minnesota is deeply grounded in the values of community, compassion, dignity, and solidarity. The violent actions of federal agents have had profound effects on families and communities across our city and state, creating an environment of chaos, fear, and disruption in our neighborhoods. This federal operation has made life difficult for many residents to shop for groceries, go to work, take their children to school, or keep their small businesses open. When residents are brutalized and profiled, families are torn apart, and children are arrested, our communities are not any safer. We continue to demand that ICE, and all federal agents leave our state immediately. Minnesotans have a long tradition of activism, protest, and civic engagement during significant inflection moments in our state. A broad coalition of labor organizations, faith communities, community-based organizations, students, small businesses, and workers have called for a statewide Day of Truth and Freedom as a time for solidarity, community, mutual aid, and protest. The Minneapolis City Council fully supports this action as a time to exercise your constitutional rights, to express support for our neighbors, and demand the end of this federal occupation. We acknowledge and respect the diverse ways individuals, families, essential workers, students, and businesses may choose to observe this day and support our community.
Together, with our community, the City Council reaffirms our commitment to civic expression, community safety, and our immigrant neighbors. We will continue the work of ensuring justice, freedom, and dignity for all during and beyond this occupation."
