As an owner of a ft-891 I can say that it definitely streamlined my POTA kit. That being said, I moved to that from a luggable Kenwood. The 891 is a wonderful rig.

Well done. I did not get along with #1001. I think whoever made #1002 phoned it in.

Oh yes the 710 does have a built in automatic tuner. I like the lamp post idea but I’d prefer to not make any permanent changes. My POTA rig does not have a built in tuner but the bundle deal that I got through the QTH classifieds came with a decent third party external tuner. Too much to carry.

I wish you luck! A good tuner can be a fantastic tool. I feel like the tuner inside my #Kenwood #TS-570D could tune a folding cafeteria table.

My most efficient operation is still done during #POTA activations. Far away from my downtown noise floor.
Have you investigated a rain gutter antenna to sidestep the HOA restrictions?

I am unsure if there is just a coincidental period of ideal conditions or not but I just installed a Islatrol LRI-115 between my electrical outlet and my ham station’s power strip and it cut my noise floor nearly in half!!
I picked that up from an auction website.

I think my #aerobie might be suffering from some #dryrot. It is just breaking apart when trying to flex it. My spare seems to be in good shape.

I agree that would be interesting but water tends to block radio waves rather effectively.

I passed my five year mark since I gave up drinking alcohol back in October. I’m reading a book that started talking about drink recipes and the author came to the #Caipirinha. I had my first one in 2002 while in #Brazil and fell in love with them. Gosh I miss them now. But not gonna have one!
