Hats off to Marc!
61 years ago today at the foot of the Edmund Pettus Bridge, Selma, Alabama.

Good morning Providence City Hall & @RIPTA.com! πβοΈ
I didnβt necessary interpret Bellβs somewhat over the top reaction to Foulkesβ housing proposals as support for McKee. But what am I missing?
I agree and I'll add one more thing: Something I love about his columns and his approach to persuasion is that he regularly cites history. Not just what happened five days ago but what happened two hundred years ago. I learn things from his columns all the time.
People overseas love their kids just as much as you love yours. Your kids arenβt more special just because they were born on US soil
βIf they believed at all in universal laws, they certainly did not particularly care to conform to them. To them, violence, power, cruelty, power, were the supreme capacities of men who definitely lost their place in the universe and were much too proud to β¦ reintegrate into the world.β

This is an excellent piece from the Journal's Alex Kuffner explaining how climate change contributed to this week's mega-blizzard.
Kuffner notes that Rhode Island is the "the fastest-warming state in the country," which I didn't know. π³

THIS. We're stuck in a negative loop where no one expects better and so it doesn't get better. The communication is terrible. We have too many neighbors who need to get to jobs, to get food, etc. I'm fed up with the excuses.
Hey.
Tell people when they do good job.
When you like the stuff they make.
When you like the characters theyβve created.
The stories theyβve told.
Nobody hears it as often as you think bc everyone thinks everyone hears it all the time.
Trust. They donβt.
Tell. Them.

Hi Bluesky - I'm Massachusetts' Attorney General. You might know me from suing President Trump nearly 50 times, beating Uber and Lyft in court, or being the first woman of color elected to statewide office in MA.
I officially left X today - help me find my MA people?
I (perhaps naively) hoped that Sam Altman having a baby would inject some broader notion of humanity into his being, but it seem that no, no, that has not happened.

One of the lessons I hope people take away from Jesse Jacksonβs life and the outpouring of remembrances small and large is that progress is made and measured in every act and utterance against oppression and not measured solely in legislative or electoral victories.
Itβs maddening. It would be nice if the functioning app to report things to the City had not been taken away and replaced with something less functional.
Happy birthday to one of my favourite haters, Charles Darwin
A poster showing a young person with a flaming head holding a phone and a whistle. The text says: "Melt ICE, defend your neighbors!" The person says, "Think you see ICE?" And then the text reads, "Call the LUCE hotline, 617-370-5023."
I am loving this new LUCE flyer
This is depressing stuff, Rhode Island.
Itβs unreal that the Marouns are still at it.
That drop over orders of magnitude is since I was in high school.
Itβs our own Infrastructure week.
This five year old is still in jail
Get it, City of Providence!
