From Semrush data, there's a recent drop in traffic U.S. towards ChatGPT website : I assume this is in response to the recent integration of an AI Chatbot within Google.com outside of the EU?

I see ! Thanks :)
I find that the question version clarifies what the paper is about and makes me sure the paper has a clear purpose and will deliver some well identified insight. Why do you like it less than, say, wordplays? Thanks !

Playing around with CBP airport processing data this morning to see how much air travel by non-US passengers is cratering.
I guess that works although I could also see how there's a loss of the "reciprocal" aspect of tariffs
Suppose the EU wanted to increase tarifs on a strategic US industry, such as social media. How does one do it when there are no (direct) prices?
Yesterday's insightful thread from @adambonica.bsky.social spurred me to post a new related essay (with Christian Helmers) that uses Adam's ideology measure. We look at suits filed against the Trump admin and assess claims that they have been strategically directed to particularly liberal judges.

In a new working paper, Christian Helmers, Louis-Daniel Pape, and I take a deep dive into the first Trump administration's impact on the ideology of US district courts. We focus on appointments to single-judge divisions and resulting opportunities for ideologically motivated judge shopping.
Well that's my cue. β¨NEW WPβ¨
What happens when SSA downsizes field office staff, even if the offices stay open? Fewer people end up enrolled for benefits.

We are recruiting an Econometrics Adviser. The role would suit someone with a recent PhD (or a masters and some experience), and an interest in empirical IO. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-profile cases and with great data!

Title: Hidden in Plain Sight: The Prevalence and Impact of Undiagnosed ADHD Abstract: While diagnostic errors are prevalent throughout health and mental health fields, little is known about their long-term consequences. In this paper, I assess the long-term education and labor market effects of missed Attention-Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) diagnoses. Doing so is challenging for two reasons. First, a person's true ADHD status is unobserved; only their diagnosed status is known. Second, even if diagnostic errors exist, they are likely akin to non-classical misclassification errors and therefore endogenous. To overcome these empirical challenges, I use a partial observability model to estimate an individual's true ADHD status and their probability of underdiagnosis. Then, I estimate their effect on educational attainment and adult labor market outcomes. I find that ADHD is underdiagnosed -- with large differences by race, gender, and socioeconomic backgrounds -- and underdiagnosis reduces educational attainment and worsens labor market outcomes. I also find evidence of vicious intergenerational cycles in which inequity in mental health care drives and is driven by socioeconomic inequities.
