Pope Leo XIV greets a baby dressed as mini Pope during his general weekly audience in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican
Someone has dressed their baby as a pope to meet the Pope and I can't cope.

That "more" is doing a lot of heavy lifting.
I've had things to do, so I've only been able to dip in and out of the stage 3 Assisted Dying debate. All I'll say is that our politics would be so much the better if the standard of conduct and good-faith engagement on display here was the standard for all proceedings.
A red and white Basset Hound lies on a yellow leather sofa. His paw crumples and long floppy ears are particularly fabulous today.
Okay, it turns out that Basset Hounds can move way faster that they should be able to on those chunky Oompa Loompa legs.
I have this book! Itβs barely holding itself together but I have it! Note: I am significantly younger than this bookβ¦just to be clear.
It looks like my luck has finally run out and I finally need my first filling. Itβs starting to get a bit sore, but thankfully my dentist is managing to see me in June. π
My Master System II had Sonic built in - I didnβt know at the time but it turns out that was a fairly rare one.
Isnβt the whole point of the US constitutional setup that this sort of thing shouldnβt happen? (Actually a real question as an outsider whoβs only been to the US once and knows just about nothing of US law.)
Hidden Figures has to be one of the best films ever made. If you haven't seen it, you need to.
Forgot what a guilt tripper that freaky green bird was.
No idea what weβre meant to be predicting, or which book youβre referring to, as I am very much less online these days, but I bet Scots law Bluesky is weird enough to be prepared to sponsor you to eat both volumes of the 4th edition of Gordon.
It's wild how people confuse freedom of speech with a right to an audience.
A red and white Basset Hound lies on a grey carpet next to his colourful rope pull. He is looking judgementally at the camera holder. There is a small wet patch of drool next to him.
Butter stealer, with bonus slobber patch.
If you made a merch line of this, I'd buy it. I'd buy it all.
Sincerely,
Dog Mum to a chronic butter stealer.
Today is the 5th anniversary of the release of the infamous #Lawyercat video, which I posted roughly thirty minutes after the start of the second impeachment trial. Who would have thought it would have such a lasting impact on the world! Happy Lawyercat Day for all who celebrate!
The Justice that Works report has been published today. It sets out a number of key recommendations, including our call for the Whole System Approach to be extended to under 25s, and our work on making restorative justice consistently available across Scotland.
We welcome the opportunity to respond to the Scottish Governmentβs call for views on the short-term release of some prisoners; this includes the release of some under-18s in secure care on justice grounds.
Read the full response at our website here:
The challenge for those of us that work in the justice system is how we communicate that evidence, and support people to understand what actually makes them safer. We talk a lot about 'stakeholder engagement', but everyone is a stakeholder in the justice system.
Decades of evidence shows that often prison is an expensive means of failing to prevent, or increasing, reoffending. The challenge for govts is what to do when the public would rather spend money on prisons than schools and hospitals regardless.
Phrases I never imagined uttering before I was a parent: βThatβs not where the poo goesβ and βWhy is there a fish finger on mummyβs desk?β

This is the second joke on Blueksy ever to make me groan aloud, and both are in this thread.
Setting a new academic fashion trend.
Entirely appropriate attire for any lecture, imo.
Is it wrong that I want to pet it?
Pleased to report that more than five years into my career, I'm still failing to heed @jameschalmers.bsky.social's advice about not leaving blank footnotes in drafts, and still cursing past me every time I remember why it's good advice!
Youβ¦watched Dogma??
Brief foray back onto X went well. Started a professional account with a view to just keeping an eye on things. I muted some extreme right-wing sources, followed some sensible ones and had my account suspended 3 times for verification, then permanently for βinauthenticβ activity.
This is utterly inhumane.
Traumatised people unable to have any sort of settled life here, and liable to have everything turned upside down overnight as regimes change in unpredictable ways and with unpredictable consequences.
