Doodle before ENA day passes. Wasn't going to post anything originally, but the trailer for dating oblivion forced my hand.

Local art student discovers that pixel art can be mapped onto cross stitch, immediately plans signalis patches.

Occupying myself with a whole bunch of craft stuff recently. Narrowly avoiding inhaling bleach. Don't have the time to fall head-first into cross-stitch, but I feel perilously close...

Bleach and water stenciled onto old pants fabric. This is only the first draft--the next stencil (which won't collapse...) has some serifs and better support structures.

First piece of complete fan art for ENA. Was also supposed to be a simple exploration into dura-lar stencils, though I may have gone a little overboard...

A colorful trace monotype of Transmission Across the Acheron. Took me way longer than expected.

I think this is one of the prints I made during a midnight storm -- class was quite late, and I already had a habit of staying until about 11pm. The rain didn't let up until 3.

Plastic Little (1994) may not be especially dense, thought-provoking, or at all possible to recommend (containing many of the OVA era's worst sins), but it's the first thing I've watched in a while that makes me want to grab my tools and draw. It has real passion behind it.

Working on a new piece. Was stuck on the background for ages. Picked up some photography books and figured it out.

Last night's figure drawing part 1: shorter poses. Contour practice. Enjoying construction lines and reducing things to shapes. I find it counterproductive to think about objects as being foreshortened--it makes them intimidating.

Messing around with old alcohol markers. Intrigued by the opacity, but still nervous about putting them onto a nice, finished sketch.

Either way, I'm happy they didn't completely give out on me after laying dormant for so long...
