His outfit progressively upgrades, so these are from early ARR and late-ARR respectively.
At first he didn't have much - nothing fancy, just enough to not look out of place in Eorzea, and still using his Warder gauntlets.
As he saves up and gains fame as WoL, he's able to afford better.

Lyal eminently dislikes crowded places. Too much sensory stimuli and his ears hear too much...it tires him quickly. He may be able to tolerate it for a short while, like for an important event, but in general he prefers quiet environments with less people.
