There’s a theory that a poet’s work tends toward one of four major axes—poetry of the body, poetry of the mind, poetry of the heart, or poetry of the soul. Where would you place your work, if at all?
Here’s a #haiku and some pics, all inspired by a return visit to a chilly #Amsterdam around a year ago. #senryusunday
That’s a great list, thanks Julie.
On my blog, I’ve listed links to 50+ active journals that take short-form poetry like haiku & tanka (not all have open submission periods atm) & another 40ish that are defunct. Enjoy!

Thanks Jenn, positive as always! It’s a great city, so compact / walkable, great galleries, cafes etc. Try to do a canal boat tour while you’re there.

This #haiku got second prize in the Seashores Journal ‘Kukai’ (competition) in #Dublin last week. I decided to pair it with a photo from the same day, to create a #haiga. Both inspired outside Glasgow, #Scotland in late December.
Congrats! 🥳
This is a great opportunity for emerging poets. Deadline 8/3/26

Well done Norway! 🇳🇴
Thanks Gerry, and for the repost! I nearly said ‘retweet’ there… :-0
Two good pieces of #haiku news in the last week: ‘stone labyrinth’ (inspired in #Scotland) got 2nd prize in last week’s Seashores ‘kukai’ competition and my #senryu sequence appears in the new issue of @abridgedmagazine.bsky.social 😊 Here are the first two senryu…
