This afternoon, I noticed the bike lane flexposts on Charles River Dam Road (aka Rt. 28/Craigie Bridge) were all missing (presumably from the blizzard?), so I sent this video to Rep. Dan Ryan and to MassDOT and together we quickly got confirmation that they will be re-installed. π΄πΌπ΄π½ββοΈπ΄ββοΈ
Weβre grateful this work is happening in our community β and we continue to push back on Trumpβs senseless move to pull the plug on it. π¬π§«π§ͺπ©βπ¬
ARPA-H does unbelievable work β giving the brightest minds and top performers piles of money to focus deeply on transformative healthcare innovations that wouldnβt be possible in a commercial setting.
Thank you to Gov. Healey for inviting me to this weekβs event, where I also got to chat with Eric Paley, our new Secretary of Economic Development, and Kirk Taylor of Mass. Life Sciences Center.
I was wildly inspired to meet with leaders of Massachusetts organizations funded by the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), a federal agency that invests in high-risk, high-reward research designed to accelerate breakthroughs in health and medicine.

Clips from todayβs Somerville Dems Caucus. I spoke in support of my re-election and Ed Markey called on the Senate to return to vote against war on Iran. Then it was over to the Cambridge Library for the Cambridge Dems Caucus. Thank you to all of my constituents who signed my nomination papers!
Thank you, Max, for all that you do in service to others and for allowing us to recognize you today!
He also served on the Cambridge Charter Review Committee βthese are just a few of his contributions to the public interest and civic life in our community. Todayβs event honored over 100 Black leaders from across the Commonwealth, a powerful celebration to close out this yearβs Black History Month.
I was delighted to welcome Max Clermont to the State House today for the annual Black Excellence on The Hill Awards, hosted by the Black and Latino Legislative Caucus. Max serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Just-A-Start and works at the intersection of patient advocacy and public affairs.
β¦the bill continues to pit the real need for affordability against the demands of the climate emergency. I will be posting a much more detailed summary to my State House blog in the coming days. The bill now moves to the Senate, and I am hopeful we can get to an even better final conference bill.
Quick recap after a long day and evening spent debating the Energy Affordability bill in the House. The bill was made a lot better thanks to the collective efforts of the climate justice movement and our partnership with House Leaders and colleagues. However, in the end, I voted No becauseβ¦
My latest newsletter is out: β90 hours to stop an eviction β hereβs how we did itβ β itβs a personal account of an intense, around-the-clock effort to save one constituentβs housing β and another reminder we must keep fighting for housing for all.
This Friday, the staff at both the Broadway and the Cambridge Crossing locations will vote to join UFCW Local 1445 β so we showed up yesterday to show our support for the business and to stand strong with the workers as they seek to form a union. βπΊ
Over the past decade, Lamplighter has established itself as an iconic independent brewery and taproom and a cherished third place in our community, with a commitment to inclusiveness and several partnerships with our local nonprofits. π

Frederick Douglass died on this day in 1895.
His radical vision is one we should strive for today: a politics that unites the poor, both black and white, against their wealthy exploiters: jacobin.com/2015/09/andrew-johnson-frederick-douglass-second-reconstruction
Itβs a pathetic day in America when β in response to the horrific crimes revealed by the Epstein files β the King of England says the Rule of Law must prevail as a member of his royal family faces prosecution β but President Trump and the DOJ continue to shield our ruling class from accountability.
