The LSUvsSC women's basketball game is so good. If you're watching any other game, Im sorry.
I was being charged for Adobe AI assistant even though I had closed my Adobe account. Had no idea until I saw drafts from my bank acct. Customer service refunded the money and closed the account I didn't know I had. Just sharing to warn others...closing an account apparently does not mean closed.
Kevin Durant plays the game so beautifully. His patience, attentiveness to his teammates on the court, his skill level and ability to dominate. It's pure basketball that I got to share w/ my 10-year old tonight. I hope he won't forget me letting him stay up to see KD drop 40 on the Magic. πβ€οΈ
This reminds me of Baldwin's passionate assertions about love as radical resistance. Morrison also spoke about the love this way...we cannot underestimate the power behind loving.
When people are lying, they talk incessantly to convince you the lie is true. It's a distinction of a liar...diarrhea of the mouth.
The Bible says it like this:
"The more talk, the less truth; the wise measure their words."
(Prov. 10:19)
"Did what we had to do" is code for...those that know, know.

Galatians 5:1 "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."
Message to Be Expressed:
Don't get entangled in religion. Christ died for you to have more than rules. He died to give you relationship.

I have really enjoyed every facet of BlackHistoryMonth. Reading Paradise and engaging in a virtual book discussion, attending a church event, listening to my kids cite Black History facts, and attending a book talk. It all feels like resistance-knowledge sharing. πͺπ½

Matthew 25:35-36 KJV
"for I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: [36] naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me."
BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.
This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.
It is hard to talk about women as prey without talking about the men of Ruby as prey...as there are no winners in Paradise. The women, rooted in a scathing patriarchal, sexist, and racial system-a system that also created the men of Ruby- are prey but who are the predators? It is perilous for both.
Rev. Jesse Jackson's "I *am* somebody..." remains one of the all-time great pieces of 20th century rhetoric / agitprop
And he could deliver it at a Black separatist meeting, the Democratic National Convention, or on god-blessed Sesame Street (see below π₯Ή)
RIP to the Voice of the Voiceless
Morrison loves to make us reach deep and involve our own imaginations and realities with the outcomes of her work. Because I became so emotionally attached to the women, I want them to live. Because I understand the motives of the men of Ruby, I know they could not.
I think the family's significance is also that they reflect the refusal of White America to accept knowledge and wisdom from Black America. The consequences of refusing help from a group perceived to be the "help" is something I believe Morrison is trying to shed light upon.
I hope once Dame retires he does a Masterclass on self-confidence. His confidence and clutchness is one of one. It's not arrogant or inflated. It's just him.
This is hard to answer because Morrison includes so much Black History on every page...every date and town represents an event or moment in history. If you successfully read Paradise, you know way more than you did before about Black migration, Native American hsitory, and the Black experience.
Happy Love Day. Love on yourself. Write your self a poem. Be good to you. β€οΈ
There is still so much about history hidden in plain sight.
Galatians 2:11 KJV
"But when Peter was come to Antioch, I [Paul] withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed."
If Christians are creating division, or acting hypocritical, tell them to their face. Place the blame where it belongs. Don't sweep it under the rug.

"We have three more months to avoid an epic, biblical famine before the rainy season comes and the roads will be impossible in this part of Sudan," said Jan Egeland of the Norwegian Refugee Council. "So we have to surge aid." https://to.pbs.org/4aarVb3

When Black people say, "My grandma (who happened to have a grade school education, only read the Bible, Reader's Digest, and the Farmer's Almanac) is the smartest person I know," they mean that to the fullest. It's not debatable. Its not quantifiable but look at the people running this country. See?
It's Black History Month.
Whether you want to participate in our discussion or not, everyone should read novels by Toni Morrison. #BannedBookSkyClub #BookSky
Ella Fitzgerald was the first woman to ever win a Grammy Award. Over the course of her career she won 12 Grammy awards, plus one lifetime achievement award plus six of her songs were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
Do you remember when people were saying "I think my phone is listening to me, i'm getting ads for stuff I spoke about" and people said "They arent listening to you, they're just this good at predicting your interests"?
Well, it happens they were doing exactly that.
