From my conversations with the kids who run the register at my local pharmacy (years of living a rock ‘n’ roll tour lifestyle to catch up with you), this is more than a fashion trend. Lyrics matter.
There may just be some salvation in punk rock

It’s often hard to see any hope in the current shit show.
But, over the last few months I’ve noticed trend (at least in my part of Westchester, NY).
15 to 20-year-olds are sporting infamous Milo descendants shirts.

How does an AV / Event Staging company kick off a long weekend after weeks of back-to-back shows?
By kicking it out with Grilling, Karaoke, and a live jam session.
Evidently it is international Goth Day
While any pictures be of me in my 20s were ‘disposed of’ by an ex, I do revisit it from time to time
My kids, boys, 18 and 20, have no interest in the look -yet I have a closet full of clothes

It would appear that after our NV 1 van’s last delivery, it turned straight edge
(actually this was to warn us that the van was full to the doors and not to open both at once (beware intend that may have shifted!))
Day Two of Bar Shirts
The plan is to revisit with the wife this coming weekend - pray for our livers

(Wife got me the gift of these for a year- new one every month. I love dive bars)
Today- Bob & Barbara’s Lounge - shirt is replete with the infamous Shure SM-55 (Aka Elvis /Rockabilly mic). It’s also really soft and fits well.

While the film tickled my film nerd brain, the soundtrack made my giddy at the time. What more can you ask for ?

Today we have 4 big shows going out (busy season in the Event Staging biz)
Shirt today is from my company’s annual Pirate University - where we provide three days of free training in audio, video, lighting, and networking to students and entry level techs.
All are welcome
Day 2 of 10 (for me)
Diva - Jean-Jacques Beineix’s adaptation of Daniel Odier’s novel. As part of the ‘French New Wave’ the film has held sway over me for 45 years.

Good Morn gentle Blue-Skylers
On my 3rd cuppa coffee and listening to the latest episode of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Manifesto.
Today’s shirt is a limited run by a friend - in response to the repug claim that NYC is pure anarchy
Sorta jumping on the 10 day Soundtrack challenge (props to @thischarmingman__ & @otter272 )
Breaking Glass ~ Hazel O’ Conner
The film, the soundtrack truly changed my outlook after catching it on a late nite HBO in 1981/82

Lene Lovich ~ No Man’s Land
This album predates her Famous hit ‘Lucky Number’.
While the songs have elements of her later, more avant its mellower /more pop-centric.
Lush, sensual and sentimental. The tone fits the grey drizzly day here in Westchester NY.

Gooooooood Morning
Listening to KEXP & shipping out shows
My shirt reads ‘HD BaseT expert’
While I have not installed custom home theater or whole home automation in years - I still work on smaller systems ( on occasion)
But, AL used to buy records from Leo Mintz’s Record Rendezvous- telling AL the kids would be rocking in a Rolling in the aisles to the songs he played in the shop
(it is very likely that LM heard the term from a Trixie Brown song)
Rock Concert ~ Marc Myers
Some further insight into the origins of the term Rock n’ Roll.
We have all heard that Alan Freed used the term in his Cleveland based ‘Moondog’ show quite liberally. (Then used it as part of his NYC based WINS show)
This is your reminder that every day is a good day to punch a Nazi

Album Of The Day
AOD (Redux)
Les Rita Mitsouko
French pop duo blending traditional sounds with classic 80s synth, brilliant vocal cycles, and clever, poignant lyrics.
Far too many alt-pop and '90s dance tracks owe a debt to this duo.

Alternative Medicine (now defunct micro, micro brew that made excellent beer and hosted amazing shows in Mount Vernon NY)
Owner is a post production audio engineer and all around nice guy.
Zeal & Ador ~ Grief
One of the rare bands that can swerve between black metal, hard rock, & gritty Mowtown.
The songs on ‘Grief’ flow between Queens of the Stone Age & Sepultura sounds while still being original, intriguing, & evocative
Gloom, doom with a soul

Is it just me or does Laura Loomer look too much like the (late) lead singer of Dead or Alive
This was a conscious choice?
MAGA men like the drag queen look?
This from a woman who has altered her herself to look like a drag queen, or at least the lead singer from Dead or Alive
Big Jay McNeely - Rock Candy
I am reading interviews with Big Jay in ‘Rock Concert’ ~ Marc Meyers and McNeely’s role in establishing the ‘Rock Stage Presence’
