Look, we toss 'em all in, one of them will *have* to work.

Re the Hormuz, not saying I'm an expert on the sitch, but are we really too proud to try historically vetted measures like sacrificing a high ranking member of the royal family to propitiate the sea god
War is peace and peace is gay.

Um. They're gaslighting themselves into thinking Netanyahu is dead.
One thing I'm really hoping before this all gets too bad is this is the authoritarian's last gasp. It's too big, too stupid, too obliviously going wrong. The pendulum's gonna start swinging the other way, because it can only be pushed *so far*

Inside the Department of War are two wolves:
"We've shut down the Colleges of War because book learnings are woke, gay, and irrelevant to war fighting."
"How come no one told us the Strait is important, there are different kinds of Kurds, Iran is big, and air power historically doesn't win wars?"
βAnd, for an instant, she stared directly into those soft blue eyes and knew, with an instinctive mammalian certainty, that the exceedingly rich were no longer even remotely human.β

I don't know how many times they told people to stop bringing their guns to work when I worked in film out there, and no, leaving them in their truck was not acceptable either.
I feel like this bill is to protect those federal officers from *us*
Someone in the comments of my last post was like, "What if the armed officers intimidate or shoot people even if they can't be near the polls?" and it's like, I don't think that person is a New Mexican because every New Mexican has like two guns.
Once againβNew Mexico is leading the way by protecting free and fair elections! NM becomes the first state in the nation to ban armed federal agents at the ballot box. This is how you do it! π³οΈπΊπΈπͺ
A friend who grew up in the punk scene confirmed to me that Nazis canβt help outing themselves and you gotta turf them out right away or they bring friends next time and it really feels like we gotta learn to do that with every aspect of society.
Could be worse, you could have Irish ancestry from both *sides*
My brother: That would explain all the self-loathing.
These champagne flutes of room temperature milk make Beavis and Butthead look like Marie and Pierre Curie
It's always delightful to hear someone of this caliber say stuff you thought, and then said, a couple/few days back. [insert warm sense of validation HERE]

She mimics the adults. Credit goes to the little actress who is a fucking natural and to the direction, but most child characters annoy the absolute shit out of me. She's not really a plot device, but a real character like everyone else.
If anything happens to her, we ride at dawn.
Another thing about Pursuit of Jade (NO I'M NOT DONE) is what it does with it's child character. The child character looks and acts like a CHILD. She doesn't add tidbits of wisdom. She's not there for comic relief. She's a child. She cries when her pet leaves. She gets in fights. She gets dirty.
I feel like it should be more widely unpopular that in the past year weβve witnessed the creation of an American Stasi required to meet arrest quotas who utilize an AI technology created by a company run by a sweaty raisin of a billionaire who thinks Greta Thunberg is the antichrist.

This gas station was a dollar cheaper on Monday.
This site needs a break. Post 3 good things, none of which are the cessation of a negative.

Narratively having Ever Given getting stuck in 2021 to set up Hormuz in 2026 is great foreshadowing. You want your audience to understand the basics of international shipping in a lower stakes context so you drop the real plot without a lot of saggy exposition about the minutiae of cargo logistics.
Been listening to a lot of System of a Down for no reason lately. None at all.
