The US keeps shutting down the whole world.

This is what you would do if the intended outcome was to ban access to care. They'll cite the numerosity of the reviews, the "low quality" etc. but that was by design. None of these reviews were intended to pass muster, just provide pretext for restricting access.

Even worse was the basis that they excluded studies on. Using an extremely restrictive PICO framework, they would exclude studies on trans youth that mixed binary and non-binary cohorts, studies that started HRT after puberty blockers (Dutch protocol) vs solely HRT.

The reviews used to justify this excluded nearly 97% of all studies from inclusion in their analysis. This is an absolutely obscene hatchet job by the NHS specifically created to eliminate access to hormones for trans youth.

Hey, alongside contacting your representatives, this seems like another thing worth putting a bit of your time into and sharing around. If we could get "reputational risk" taken off the table, even in this current climate, that could create a chilling effect on these kinds of policies

Socially things are still dramatically better than they were even 10 years ago. They've withdrawn to this institutional battle because they've lost the public debate. We just need to survive a few more rough years, together.
