You should also just read the article on disability dongles. The framework it lays out could be valuable for pushing back against a wide array of proposed "AI" use cases.

It feels impossible today
This only hurts folks with disabilities and medical conditions requiring extra support. It hurts your grandma if she falls and needs a walker, a kid with cancer, someone w/ progressing chronic illness.
This is eugenics policy in action, driven by fear mongering about immigrants.
According to a study from the National Alliance to End Homelessness, it would cost the government an additional $9.6 billion per year to end homelessness in the US by providing Rapid Re-Housing / Permanent Supportive Housing to individuals in shelters.
But sure, this is better.
I'm thinking papyrus
This is one of the reasons I have said that protecting neighbors from being kidnapped or beaten without due process IS the strategy for voting. This isn't about "immigration" whatever they say.
It's about eradicating people of color from public life.
Okay! This has already inspired a bunch of DMs, so I made a page on the website. If you have 50,000+ Skymiles and would be willing to book flights to get someone home, please fill this out.
"If I can't have you, no one can" is the credo of almost every abuser.
He's even tattooed his name on the building.
โWe have seen asthma, allergic rhinitis, hives/urticaria, environmental and food allergies, with the most common being asthma. But then there is also a good subset of patients developing mast cell activation symptoms,โ -me

Early eugenicists claimed that people from certain countries were a burden due to disability (whether or not they had one).
Now, Trump is doing the same by stopping immigrant visas from those from 75 countries. New from me at @motherjones.com. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
A Small Needful Fact Ross Gay Is that Eric Garner worked for some time for the Parks and Rec. Horticultural Department, which means, perhaps, that with his very large hands, perhaps, in all likelihood, he put gently into the earth some plants which, most likely, some of them, in all likelihood, continue to grow, continue to do what such plants do, like house and feed small and necessary creatures, like being pleasant to touch and smell, like converting sunlight into food, like making it easier for us to breathe.
And I think about Eric Garnerโs last words so often, I have this beautiful poem by Ross Gay memorised:
Hell yeah, great points
How cringe would an "action is the antidote to despair" tattoo be on a scale of 1-10?
As we grieve for Alex Pretti and Renee Good in MN, please do not forget Victor Manuel Diaz, who died in ICE custody after being taken from here. And all others who have died in their custody.
Marimar Martinez was the first US citizen shot by ICE.
They claimed she was a terrorist. Said she was brandishing a weapon.
They lied. Video footage exonerated her and showed the ICE agent shot her five times.
He bragged to other agents โfive shots, 7 holesโ.
A ๐งต of ICE abuse
I just responded to the scene at 26th and Nicollet shortly after the observer was shot. They teargassed and/or pepper sprayed Jana Shortal of KARE11 at the scene and she was being treated when I walked up. ICE have a fancy camera they are using to scan the faces of the crowd.
In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.
He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.
At the time of Maherโs detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Waelโs caregiver put his life at risk.
Wael died on Friday at age 30.
ICE caused his death.
They didnโt get to say goodbye.
Going on six years and so far we have no immunity and a whole lot of dead and permanently disabled people. So.
The violence is both disabling and cruel to the disabled.
Incredible!
Finally, a note to the many professors in my networks: One other specific, small thing you can do from outside of Minneapolis is reach out to colleagues who are heavily affected (because of their own or their family's risk, or because they're very busy protecting neighbors) and offer a guest lecture
I'd buy one
Laughing out loud at "born to shit, forced to wipe" oh my GOD
Getting out of my apartment, forcing myself to stop doomscrolling, and working from a cafรฉ has done wonders for my mental health today. Smiling and chatting with strangers gives me hope, not for normalcy (whatever that means) but for connection with like-minded, kind people.
RIP CBS News(Max)
Humiliating stuff. The audience for this subservient right wing propaganda is already over-served. If it wasnโt for a deep-pocketed Trump billionaire backing this dreck the network would fold like a cheap tent. @bariweiss @tonydokoupil
