Die Seele des Faschismus.
This is very true. I've considered {wrapping sarcasm in curly brackets} as a shorthand due to text limitations. However, I doubt anyone would get the idea.
More "the ability to exercise one's sense of humor" as the original thread was discussing... or even "not to automatically assume the worst in someone."
I realize the world we live in doesn't always permit either, but I personally find that unfortunate.
I got mercilessly dog-piled for sarcastically commenting "But... her laugh!?!" on a similar post. This is why we can't have nice things.
It's just America. It's _always_ just America.
Price is too high. That's plain Highway Robbery.
They didn't "start" doing anything. They just stopped hiding it.
That scene in Casino where a bunch of guys beat Joe Pesci and his brother with baseball bats one after the other and then bury them alive in a cornfield.
You know, as opposed to his NEXT term... which they are somehow convinced he's definitely going to have.
Let me say again: I don't care about her laugh. I was mocking MAGAts who did.
I also voted for her out of pragmatism. We could have done much better, and I would have much preferred Bernie Sanders myself. But this is currently a two-party system and she was infinitely preferable to Donald Trump.
I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to convey here. It seems that you either didn't read the sarcasm in my post like everybody else and are just tilting at windmills, or you think that us ending up with actual MAGA running the country was a better alternative.
The government is corrupt. The country is collapsing. The world is on fire. But,hey... it isn't ALL bad news now is it?
But... her laugh!!!
A political cartoon showing a grave with the extinguished Statue of Liberty's torch resting on it. The headstone reads "RIP Democracy 1776 -2026 - 'He can't do that!'"
I once mistook a "clove of garlic" for a "head of garlic" when making homemade salad dressing. It burned the eyes if it got anywhere near your face.
Still... there's no such thing as "too much garlic", and I stick by that.
Reverse Hanlon's Razor. Never attribute to stupidity that which can adequately be explained by malice.
To quote the prophet George Carlin:
"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."
You know, if a group of Iranian nationals were to blow up an American building tomorrow, it would be the perfect pretext for completely writing off the next election.
Trump sees himself as Roosevelt, when in reality he's actually Mussolini.
Actually, it is fundamental to being an American. We've been doing that to Native Americans ever since the pilgrims first landed over here.
It's amazing how an education can help to break the shackles of religious ignorance... even "Christian education" to a certain extent.
Glad you got out.
Half of those sane voices said "If you let him back in, there will be no guardrails at all." and now, here we are.
Didn't we "double tap" that Iranian school? Like blew it up, waited for the medics to arrive, then hit it again?
That seems like the literal opposite of a "light touch" to me.
Trump "I Did That!" Stickers
Got my stickers ready!
Sources seem to suggest that this is a particle mod for the game "Brimstone Brawlers"?
Please pardon the self-reference, but I felt it was related.
Inconceivable!
I think you give far more credit to the average user than they deserve.
Plus, I think no corporation is free from sin now. Bluesky is leaps and bounds better that Twitter for numerous reasons. But even they've been historically terrible on the trans front for example... and yet here we both are.
