I don't know what to do with this information, but if Bryce Eldridge and Parks Harber hit back-to-back in the lineup and you squint at their names for a few moments, you can kinda sorta maybe see Bryce Harper.

Caleb Kilian now has a 1.69 ERA with 5 strikeouts and only 1 walk in 5.1 innings of work this spring. He is positioning himself for a chance to make the #SFGiants out of camp.

...Whether he maintains that remains to be seen, and it is in a relatively small sample. For now, he has 6 walks against 3 strikeouts this spring, and looks about as good as he ever has at the plate. Again, it's spring training, but an encouraging trend nonetheless.

One of the bigger issues with Grant McCray's at-bats was in-zone contact. He really did not show much improvement in that area in 2024 or 2025(< 70% in MLB). That number is up to 83.3% in 26 plate appearances this spring...

There are now 212 players with at least 20 at-bats this spring. Luis Matos is 1 of 2 players who have not recorded a strikeout yet.

The other is Josh Kasevich of the Toronto Blue Jays.

...There is 20+ home run potential in his bat, but his profile is a bit too reliant on his power, as this will likely come with low on-base rates.

This is a tough position for the Giants because he is hitting the ball hard, but not much is coming from it.

Jerar Encarnación is making a lot of hard contact (97.0 MPH average EV), but a lot of it is straight into the ground (52.4% GB rate, 1.2-degree launch angle), which is why his game power is relatively muted compared to his raw power...

The #SFGiants go back-to-back. This time it is Jesús Rodríguez hitting a solo shot to bring them back within one.

Grant McCray gets one back for the #SFGiants, as he launches a solo shot left-center field. McCray continues a strong string, and this is arguably the best he has looked over the past few seasons.

Parks Harber ties it up with a 2-run shot to right field to score Daniel Susac. That swing of the bat had a 105.1 MPH exit velo and an estimated distance of 411 feet #SFGiants

Landen Roupp was not sharp with his control early in his outing today, but only allowed 1 run in 3 innings. I think it is good for pitchers to pitch with some traffic on the bases, and Roupp did that today. He had been pretty efficient before today's outing.

Michael Conforto's revenge tour against the Giants has seemingly carried over into 2026.

...Eldridge has posted a 22.2% chase rate, which is an area he has shown improvement in as a pro. The power upside will force pitchers to pitch around the zone. If he can stay within the zone, he should see some healthy walk rates, along with good power numbers.

One thing that stands out about Bryce Eldridge's spring (and brief MLB career) is the at-bat quality. They know the power is there, so that is not something they need to really evaluate. They do need to evaluate his plate discipline, and he has done a nice job on that front...

Incredibly, Luis Arráez has recorded 3 doubles and 4 home runs in 25 at-bats over his last 7 WBC games.

He needed that probably more than any other hitter.

Spring training stats are fun because Trevor McDonald has posted a ludicrously high 84.6 percent ground ball rate this spring, albeit in a tiny sample of just 6 innings.

...when the need arises during the year. Though, he is not making the decision any easier on what to do with him to start the year, and I think that is what you want to see with a young pitcher.
