Do they also sell it without a chamois?

If you are that cold and wet, the impact of the crash hurts so much more plus you cramp up the moment you stop moving making it hurt even more. Also mentally you are already suffering so much, a crash will make you feel even more sorry for yourself.

I think they did their homework well. Yes, he was a bit far, but they know that lefthander would still be coming up and Jasper gained many places in that corner alone. It was risky, because he could have been squeezed, but we know he isn’t afraid to go for tiny gaps.

They weren’t planning on bringing Jasper and Groves rarely gets a leadout. Their leadout train is fine, just not at Tirreno

Amazing ride, looking forward to his title for his Strava file today πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Bit too harsh imo. Plankaert delivered him a bit too early but it’s not like Tibor or Emiel do many leadouts. To not use Mathieu can be criticized but that is a Roodhoofts decision I can kinda understand with what’s still coming.

I wondered if the spectators who were wayyyyyy too close to the racing line made him overcorrect a tiny bit too much, they scared me and I am far from Italy πŸ˜…

The non graceful part was mainly due to his chain being dropped I think but yeah, if even the (arguably) best bike handler of the peloton is having difficulties it’s not strange that riders who are under pressure to follow are sliding out

It was just sketchy out there, Arensman has done a lot of CX, even won races up til U23, and also slid out πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Jorgenson was under pressure trying to follow MvdP

Plus Jasper isn’t a sprinter yet, he is Classics Jasper atm. Johnny has improved his climbing though. But year, should be good for Magnier too πŸ‘πŸ»

It happened a few spots behind Wout though (I just checked) and he didn’t react to it, he does appear to be cautious on the wet descent in the turns though. He also brakes earlier than others before that corner into the gravel road. His positioning looked better at KBK, so maybe it was the wet roads

Hopefully Jasper can measure himself against Johnny tomorrow, he came in 12 minutes behind Mathieu with Silvan so he did take it easy πŸ˜‰

But pff, the finally 10km of this stage was very nerve wrecking 😱

Okay no breakaways for Tibor πŸ˜‰ Yeah the stages look pretty nice for them, but I assume they will go all in for Jasper and Mathieu so not a lot of chances for Tibor and Emiel

For those curious what happened, Maas (BEAT) spat and it landed on Watts (NSN), Watts thought it was a deliberate action and blew off the handle. Watts came to the BEAT bus after the race to explain and apologized. Watts got disqualified yesterday and sidelined by his team for the race today

Not sure. Mathieu won’t do what he did in 2021 when he completely fucked up his Spring Classics after because he gave too much. Tibor will now not sprint because Jasper is there but might go for breakaways, Emiel definitely should try the more climby stages. But they will spare energy for later
